Ballpark going rate for 12back C9 Politoy set

Sorry if my comments came across as "Snobby" I meant nothing by it I just found it a little incredulous a dealer would A) not be online B) not know what they had and C) not know what they were worth. I would love to see pics as any set of C9 Palitoy cards deserves forum space and I hope this is all legit would be a great pick up for anyone with the right ammount of spare $$$

I have also read Kenner_Babe's RS thread and came over here to see what the fuss was about.

Kenner_Babe if you're reading this, as I mentioned before in older threads before on RS, you'd really help you cause if you did a bit of research first and, in addition, in this particular instance, I think it would greatly benefit you to include some pictures. Maybe take some time to run a spell-check on your posts. Just take a deep breath, I didn't see anyone making fun of you or your disability. Some sensible answers have been provided to you but, again, I think some images would really help.

FYI, you guys haven't chased away all the female collectors

Look as was pointed out on RS politoy was a mistake and she got a little ribbing for it as anyone would have gotten - no offence was meant by anyone that is how we are. I work/have worked with hundreds of dyslexic people, my daughter is dyslexic and as far as I'm aware (I'm sure I remember a stat that a quarter of the UK is dyslexic but most are not diagnosed) spelling the same word incorrectly like that is not a dyslexic issue. Many dyslexic people blame dyslexia for poor spelling but a lot of dyselxics are good at spelling it is the processing which is the problem.
Seems to have a chip on her shoulder and needs to lighten up. If you come to a forum like this, wanting us to part with our cash, then you need to fit in with us, not the other way around.

Ok ...I will weigh in on this one...after an extensive read of that RS thread. For one none of us knew she had a disability...and no one would know that based on a typo. This is a 14 year old girl.......never knew that either. This is not a kids forum (IMO) nor do I understand why or how a 14 year old would have funds to collect toys no where near their generation. It appears that Jordan is pimping her out to sell toys......I am confused. I agree this is not a forum for a 14 year old girl...just a forum for adults to act like they are 14 years old. As far as the Palitoy story goes......Well I get an image of a 14 year old girl and a perverted adult collector...sorry...just my opinion...take it for what it is.

Also as far as suggestions of changing how we run things here.....we are not TIG or RS (No offence..but that is what makes us the top forum...again..IMO). A comment was made that we are uptight...I almost spit my Kool-aid out on that one.....nothing could be further from the truth.

Yeah guess I'll put my opinion forward as well, for starters the initial question is one that even the most seasoned collector would struggle to answer. As most collectors know it's difficult to give a going rate on a carded Klaatu let alone a full set of Pali 12 backs. Then there's the question of condition with which the price greatly depends upon, so without a good set of photos you aren't going to get an answer let alone an accurate one.

I know that you "hate" the term what someone is willing to pay, but in this hobby and with anything that is second hand, vintage or antique it can't be compared to walking in to a shop and buying goods with a pre determined manufactures price tag attached. It just doesn't work that way and you are going to have to come to terms with that. So many variables such as rarity, demand, desirability dictate the price at the time it is for sale, you may see a Palitoy Chewy sell for $8000 dollars one week and $3000 the next.

Not too sure who the dealer is that has put this challenge towards you but I find it strange and almost irresponsible to put such a task on the shoulders of someone you are apparently mentoring. This whole thing is bizarre.

It's the Polish version. They're not really that rare, there's been a huge influx of them lately. However the government got pissed when they found out that Ben was sending his child benefit back to Poland to his Jawa kids.
