Well, a full days worth of travelling and some 1200 miles later we are all home safe and sound, had a very busy week getting settled, internet set up etc but it looks like all went pretty well considering we went from one country to another with a 5 month old in tow! Emma was really good on the trip too which helped a bunch considering she is getting over a really chesty cough and she is very young. We thought it would be a lot more stressful than it was!

Collection wise everything I sent ahead got to the UK ok, although there was a bit of a nasty crushed box incident for one of the 4 I sent - unfortunately for me the item in the box was probably one of my most treasured pieces - my Jabbas Dungeon cromalin..

Shipping box was battered beyond belief and sure enough the crom had sustained some pretty bad damage but it is still in one piece, several creases and bends with some of the colour flaking off but I did get some good news, my dad knows a bloke that is a professional framer and specialises in framing large posters and things so I am finally going to get it framed up and more importantly safe, for the cost of the material only! No nasty costly framing charges!

All in all not the end of the world and most importantly we all made it home in one piece! It's good to be back on SWF

Shame about the shipping damage. Good to hear you're over here in the UK. Will we be seeing you at some of the UK collector's events then?

:)

Congrats on the move Joe!!
Too bad about the chromalin though, sounds like a piece that's hard to replace.
Would love to see a pic of it framed! 8)

Cheers guys! Yeah Jason I am really itching to get out to some of the upcoming UK events! It would be rude to refuse the generous offers of a pint or two from Ed and Chris as well

Another rather **** story: I have been craving a proper Chinese for about 4 years now, finally got one ordered yesterday, beautiful it was, I ate it like I had never seen food before..few hours later I was chucking it all back up in the toilet!!

Wife was fine though but she didn't have anything with Prawns in it so I think that was what was rotten in mine! ****ing Prawns!

Ugh, that must have been your worst nightmare moving-collecting-wise. :x

Good to hear everything else went well though. And now you won't have confused Germans sending your stuff to the US anymore.

Wey hey, Joe is back on UK soil

Hope to meet you at one of the events at some point, you may even get a pint out of me 2 if you are really lucky, dam shame about the damaged goodness, but at least it has made you think about getting it protected for the future.

I doubt it would be prawns that made you bad m8 as shell fish poisoning is quite severe, I would expect a few days feeling pretty grim unless they were just on the turn, so that's one Chinese take away you wont be frequenting again any time soon :| - don't they have Chinese food available in Vamp land then?, though our little slant eyes friends had them in every far flung corner of the world :?

Lol Cheers Frank!

**** knows what it was then but stomach kept me up all night till I finally couldn't take it any more - got to the toilet and 4 healthy throat fulls later I was feeling right as rain lol!

About the only ingredient that I had different to the Mrs food was the Prawns?? - Perhaps they spat on mine

We had two chinese places in the city we lived in over in Romania, one was a sit in restaurant but I never went there, the other was a take away thing in a shopping center and the food was **** tbh! Not to mention my wife once found a piece of metal in her noodles from a Brillo pad thing!

Anyways! Yeah look forward to getting to some events and meeting up with some of you :)

Welcome back Joe. Good to hear the journey wasnt too bad for you and the family. Where have you set up home over here then??

Such a shame about the damage to cromalin. Unfortunately, a much as a shipping/delivery company should look after the stuff they are holding, its always the risk with posting/shipping stuff. The thing that annoys me is you never get an apology that they have obviously handled your stuff badly, well, one box anyway.

Are you back over here for good now??

Glad you made it back safely, and with almost no collection woes! It's been like a ghost town on here for the last week

Er...no it wasn't. We had the most members ever, one day of it. :?
You're thinking of the other place and the other Joe

Glad to hear you made it back Joe. Shame you have to leave civilisation for England, but sure, we all have our crosses to bear!

You able to claim for the damage to the Crom?
