Mixed feeling on this subject TBH, in a way Liams Russian roulette stance made for an exciting auction so I see where your coming from Josh, but as a rule I see the need for some privacy if you are already bidding on an item & the best way forward would be to contact any member you think would be interested in an item on ebay or elsewhere rather that posting it publically making it a free for all, though I have been guilty of such in the past, but its usually been on large for sales threads on RS with many items that are frankly out of my/most of our reach financially speaking.

I now tend to just pm a member if I see something that fits there focus as its easier & more appreciated.
