Im not sure what to think about this...

This guy bought several vintage SW pieces off me, won fair and square in auction format, but now he is attempting to flip them with a big mark up and he is using my same pics and descriptions. In fact if you look at 'sellers other items' the diversity of the pics probably means he is using loads of other peoples pics. Gary Barnett, Ebay ID: Baruk_Kibty

Here's my original listing..

Is Gary Barnett a member on SWFUK as im feeling this is rather taking the piss?

The name doesn't ring any bells with me, but that doesn't man much, we have a hell of a lot of members, and even more lurkers.

As the law stands, those pictures are copyrighted to you and as he hasn't asked for permission to use them you can either ask him to pay you royaltys, or take him to small clams court for copyright infringement. I think those pictures would be removed very quickly if you did that

Oh, and even using your exact description is infringeing your intellectual property, so don't forget to ask for the royaltys on that too :D

Other than the guy is clearly an opportunist dick that is driving this market the wrong way.....I really don't see what's to get annoyed about. Yes, he's a knob, yes it would be frustrating to see him get 3 times what he paid you, but is it worth the bother of reporting to ebay that he's using your images just to watch them do FA and wind you up a little bit more?

I was going to say add him to your blocked bidders list, but then if you auction something else you lose the benefit of that last bid! Although he only won it by a pound this time, next time it might be £5 or £10. Perhaps a better suggestion would be to "watermark" your photos in the future. If you you write your username across the image it will stop him doing that again. However, it could detract from your own listing and it takes an extra few minutes per listing to do.

Frustrating to see but re-sellers of everything exist everywhere. It's univentive, unimaginative, leach like and down right annoying but it's a way of life.

Looks like he's struggling, all that sw stuff he's trying to flip and not a single bid on anything. I love karma.

I'm not bothered by the chap reselling these items so soon after buying them, they belong to him and he can attempt to sell them for any price. I was pleased to receive £37 for an open mini-rig, but if he thinks he can get £100 then good luck to him. However I have written a message to him politely asking him to remove my pics and descriptive text as they don't belong to him - the toy does but the pics do not. Hopefully he'll be a good guy about it...

That is one crazy mark up. Like you say this is what is pushing the market higher than it should be although I doubt anyone will buy it at that price.

 This has happened to me recently. Not the same ebayer. He used his own photos but my description I stated that I snapped the tip of the sabre when sliding in arm....Dam!!! He copied my description word for word. He flipped it within a day of receiving the item from me..never left me feedback. The knob
