Man, he should try being a vintage Star Wars collector on ebay

Unfortunately their overwhelming desire to become an online catalogue store doesn't fit well with auctioning collectables that are very dependent on accurate descriptions and photographs of the actual items being sold.

Shut up you whack a mole

Sorry just saw your signature!

Read the article, does ring true in places but I still use it, means to an end really, if a seller has something on ebay I want I will buy it.. lol

Joe, Andy is our resident Whack-a-mole...............no idea what it means, but I know Andy is one!
And I agree about Ebay being a means to an end, if I can avoid it I do, if not I risk it and hope for the best. It has gone down hill badly in the last 2 years but then we all know that.

And i dont think he mentions the outrageous fees incurred!!

more and more people use it to advertise products and do the deal outside ebay, with only the odd opportunity for a bargain its becoming obsolete in sellers eyes.

Im working on a website where you can advertise items and add your paypal checkout details so people can buy straight from the page itself, hopefully Edd with add a tab at the top and we could use it on here, for free of course to forum members :)

Good idea. You could let people use Google Checkout as well.

Yeah...give me more work to do lol

Its just gonna be difficult allowing everyone to add their own account details without give admin rights to the site, hopefully ill get it sorted and uploaded soon.
