Amazing! I'm even more inspired now... Reckon I'll have my Warhammer paints out of the loft before the week is out

Have fun, weathering and repainting stuff like this can give great results, all the details are there, almost like hasbro knew prop minded people would see that and repaint them
EDIT
These x wings are on clearance at larger asda stores for £10, well worth it if you can pick one up, a friend just gave me the heads up

Thats ace mate! really good work, glad your back to drawing again, and the likeness is great, wish i could do likeness drawing,

Cheers guys, :D

Left this for ages, and went back to Hans face tonight ...no good with faces.

Have a couple of canvases on the go ...no time at present though

I think the hero falcon is a bit smaller than this one

That Legacy Falcon is awesome! 8) 8) I want it!! :x

Inspired by Grinchy's great prop style painting, I took his advice and sought out a cheep X-Wing. I couldn't get the £10 bargain in either ASDA near me, so plumped for the Argos one and using my Nectar points only spent the princely sum of £0.49!!! So, here is my first attempt at a very beat up X-wing with rust spots and runs as well as a fair bit of general wear and tear. No airbrush in my kit, so all done with the Warhammer acrylics and washes.

I decided to not go so far on my first try as scaring it for battle damage and I acknowledge there are a few paint pooling issues, but as a first stab,I really chuffed and it looks great in the SW Den.

Might look out for an X-Wing pilot beater to paint and pair up as the loosie I have stood next to him seems a pretty good proportion match, but a touch bright and clean, although I might yet suspend it from the ceiling...

Thanks Grinch for encouraging me to do it! :D

Wow mate,
You did a brilliant job on the weathering, love it, the detailing on the engines and every where else is top notch, you did a better job than me!.
Glad i ispired you to have a go at it, it doesn't take much to transform these toys into cool looking displays, i'm painting another one up now for myself.
the figures do look in scale to the x wing, but yeah displaying it like that you need a lot of shelf space

Thanks Grinchy! It means a lot to hear such positivity after seeing your work and it inspiring me to get involved  :D
I am quite concerned that if I get addicted to moddelling as well as collecting I'll need an extension!!!

Very nice Mate, looks like han got a two shot off, one in the chest and one to the head!, very nice, the others are coming along nicely to

Really like the comic/cartoon style, nice clean lines on it and lovely to see yet another string to the talented bow! :D

Cheers for the comments

Really enjoy doing these.....

Have a canvas on the go but only just started that....Ralph Mq tribute :D

Frank.......Can't have greedo shot in the head....that's not cricket

Awesome work fellas, been too long since I've looked at this thread.

Here's one I've had sketched out for years, had to play around with water a colour style effect for a job so had a practise on this. My all time favourite comic strip with my all time favourite film.

Mad skillz yo! You nailed this. Stick it on reddit r/pics and get some well earned exposure

Gone back to this several times. Enjoyed it but moved on to another canvas now.

Leave him as he is now!

Large canvas size. Which limits the options to post him off

So will swap him for Blue snag, first 12 MOC etc  ....oops sorry thought I was on FB then

Seriously...anyone wants him give me a shout.
