Artistic SWFUKers Thread as requested by Michael Sith :)

Cool, I could not create something like that in PS. I would need to get the basics set up in illustrator first before moving on to Photoshop to adjust the colours and levels etc.

If you can do something like that in Illustrator I don't think you'd have any problems with photoshop!

Again brill work BadM :D

JC - Did you draw that in Illustrator? that is high end work my friend. Did you use the mesh tool at all?

Thought I would join the party in this thread... :D

A feast of Fetts, Vintage Holiday Special, Vintage Prototype and the original Vintage Fett.

Created in Illustrator and refined in Photoshop.

BTW is thread private from non members? Should I be watermarking any images I post?

**** Junior thats is amazing I use Illustrator everyday have done for the last 20 years but I am a lazy ****er. I appreciate the work involved in that...very impressive. I'm trying to figure out what you've done here- traced a figure with some 3d renderings??????

I was thinking the same Pig city -

I've been using Illustrator for about 10 years - but **** me that is so good - Mesh tool could give results like that but would take ages - love it JC :D

Just shows what an old git I am, had no idea of the skill and work that went into that JC, my apologies for not knowing  never use an old git for inspiration!

Having said that, the Fetts look fantastic!

That's the great thing about art, it transcends most things and can be expressed in all types of mediums, that's why I love it. Some fantastic work on show keep it coming guys, love this thread :)

I've been doing a project for a top guy on here for a while now, nearly done now, biggest canvas I've attempted to date! just some finishing touches to go, I will post some pics when it's finished.

Very impressed!!
Are you thinking of selling prints JC?

Thanks again lads...

I am planning on posting a quick 'how to' post but have not had the time yet. Its pretty straight forward technique, just very time consuming.

Booty, I am considering selling prints, maybe canvases. I need to look into pricing etc. It would be great to get all the figures done and do a First 12 print, Bounty hunter print etc etc. Just unsure of pricing etc atm.

Excelent stuff Goono 8)

but your too late I've already printed a run of 20 and am selling them on ebay for £50 a pop  cheers

Mumbo...

The vile Hutt of eBay canvas prints...

Right lads, for those who use illustrator and might be interested in a bit of JC ego massaging this is my technique...

From left to right.

1. Get a decent picture of Fett and trace over the outlines. You can see the original image on the right leg, arm and torso.
2. Completed outline drawing filled with white.
3. Fill in the basic colours with no shading for reference.
4. Slowly using gradient meshes and blends build up the texture on the flat colours. Painstakingly slow but worth it for the result.
5. Export it to Photoshop and tweak the colours, balance and levels for refinement.

Now the biggest advantage of creating this in vector graphics is resizing, I now have a Fett that can be resized to huge proportions without pixelating...

6ft Fett canvas anyone?

Sith PD pic finished now, had some fun with this

Been doing it for a top guy, who had a dream and the pic has ended up nothing like it  , but hopefully it's a bit of fun and gives the much maligned PD a bit of " kick ass" and revenge. ROTPD
Started with outline and shading in pen and ink then watered down black wash

Made the PD Sith and added Sith emblem

Bit more colour washing

Also did a scrapyard PD as well

Attempted to add Sith lightening after a little collusion/request

A little more collusion/ request to add twin suns and a little background and Tatooine sky

Finished now and at the mercy of Parcelforce :?

Enjoyed doing this one 80 odd cm long canvas, so hopefully it will be enjoyed in its new home.
