Are there any doctor who fans on here?

Have always liked Doctor Who but never really watched that many. Am trying to get into it at the moment, gonna start getting them through Lovefilm to watch.

I am a fan of DoctorWho particulary under Tenant but don't like Smith so but I haven't watched for ages but I will be certainly watching when the new Doctor starts :)

Do it! I've been re-watching some of the 70s and 80s ones lately, and they really haven't stood the test of time! Its entertaining, but in a cheesy outdated way. Still quality though.

When they re-booted it back in 2005, apparently George Lucas seen it and said he didn't like it and preferred the old ones. Which I thought was grossly ironic, as he probably had heard people say that about his movies since 1999.

I think the 2005 re-boot was brilliant. Christopher Eccleston was a great doctor, and some of the episodes especially the one called "Dalek" has some of the best acting that I've ever seen.

Im a big fan. Have been since I was a kid (Tom Baker years).

Yuip, pretty excited for the 50th. Not so excited I need to go to the cinema to see it in 3D but excited enough that when I saw the 'night of the doctor' prequal yesterday I was running around trying to find someone to talk to about it!

I think since the reboot they have done an excellent job overall. Eccelstone was great, Tennant was incredible and Smith has been damn fine as well. Looking forward to Capoldi. Hope they dont lose touch with the casual viewer to pander to the fans too much which is something which has crept in a bit recently, but Im assuming thats just fan wank for the 50th.

So yes, big fan. My fav show growing up and probably my second fav show on the tell (when it is on the telly) right now (behind Breaking Bad)

Never been into it but I liked the episode with Paul McGann. Might be biased though because he was in withnail & I. Dr Who reminds me of the original Hitchhikers guide for some reason. Liked that as well but not a huge fan.

I freakin love Withnail and I Barry!! A classic! Some crazy old lady on a bus told me to watch it. I did so as I was afraid of the consequences if I didn't, cos she was a ****ing mental, but I was surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hats off to crazy bus hag!

Me and my friend had a drunk session watching a tom baker doctor who, the robots of death this wednesday night gone, and we were both crying laughing at the silly hats the people are wearing in it. I don't think it was even that funny and I doubt I would laugh now. Sad bastards we are!

I was a massive fan when I was a kid and really enjoyed Ecclestone and Tennant - with Smith I'm a bit more, well blahhh - but the 50th anniversary looks like it is going to be a good one

tennant is the best doctor! i have grown too like smith shames hes going

the angel statues are a cool enemy
john simm was ace at portraying the master
never liked the slavine enemy from the eccleston series
as for the girls billie piper! even though here face shrinked in later series

Another fan. My favourite ever film ...that includes Star Wars

I'm a fan too, thought Eccelstone was the best since its return, the others certainly haven't been a let down all good in their own ways. Definitely looking forward to the day of the Dr :)

I've dipped in and out over the decades, Pertwee and Baker being my favourites; although I have an affinity with the Harris Tweed wearing Smith (despite the BBC wardrobe department deciding to make him a new jacket based on the original vintage, which shamefully wasn't made of the same noble cloth- disgraceful).

As a kid I had a talking Dalek and a wind up K-9 (made by Palitoy, naturally)- loved them both.

Here's a rarely seen spin-off to whet the appetite for the upcoming 50th anniversary:
