I always watch this program and a few others now and again they turn up so nice pieces but 2 weeks ago a guy walked into the pawn shop with star wars carded figures he wanted 11000 and he had a kenner 12 back han and luke an esb leia and a couple of others but he had a meccano 12 back vinyl caped jawa!!!! they brought the toy expert(big vintage toy shop in vegas) he confirmed it was real and they paid 7000 us dollars for the lot.anyone seen this???

I saw this episode!

to be fair, the whole lot looked a bit 'TOO' fresh, + the way the guy started wanting $11,000 + then happily went down to $7,000 all seemed a bit weird, but hey, I guess these things are pretty much scripted! ( really not sure about the way the 'EXPERT' started sniffing the cards! )

however, as a GENUINE set of figures they were impressive, the Meccano Jawa especially, this is a gem of a figure! falls into the category of 'Rockin' Horse ****! )

the only way you know one is original though is to have it MOC, I personally have one in my collection ( Loose unfortunately! ) which came in a lot of 74 figures + mini rigs I boght about 10 years ago for around £150, was over the moon to find it in the bunch but as I say, it's very hard for me to prove it's original!

how much is $7000 anyway, about the £4000 mark???

I have seen the episode too and thought it was all staged, Duskamp tried to find out if they actually had the jawa in the store http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1097439/

I watch the show, its enjoyable sometimes but the Americans have a different approach to reality TV. It doesn't have to be reality.

After finding out a couple of the shows I have seen had 'staged elements' to them I would guess its the way most of these shows are produced.
