anyone mounted a TV on to a wall?

Depends on size of TV and the wall it's going on

I.e. brick back, plasterboard studding, chimney Breast etc

Invest in a quality bracket and fixings though!

Sure some of the capable DIY members on here will chip in mate

Obviously the security of the fixings to the wall are as important as the bracket itself ( for me anyway as I'm a wuss, and think that anything I put up is going to fall down).

If your in any doubt, ( and like me not to handy with DIY) get someone you trust to do it, as you have invested a lot of cash on your shiny new TV...you don't want to hear a crash at 2am and your TV is in bits

Just my two pennarth!

I did a 50" into a wall which is pretty much just plaster, no brick.
I bought a cheap stand off amazon £20 or less and used standard wall plugs with 2" screws. I also put a load of liquid nails onto the back of the bracket as a precaution. Been close on 3 years now no issue.

Cheers guys

Mines a 46" TV

What sort of bracket? I'm kind of hoping to be able to rotate the TV a bit while it's mounted

Mines like this one.

The brackets are in two parts. One part screws into the back of the TV which is why they're universal. The other part is screwed to the wall. You can slide a pole through the holes which joins the parts together.
Warning though it is tricky holding a heavy TV and trying to do this bit!

Ok. Will get a friend to help!!

That's the kind of brackets I've seen. Gives you an up and down tilt right?

I really want one that gives me greater flexibility with angle to include left right tilt...possibly even pull out from wall.

Assuming of course they make things that do that?

I think is what I was thinking

Hi Gary if your fixing into a brick wall I would use thunderbolts mate very easy to use and won't go anywhere also if unsure use resin as an extra security although will be fine without, the brackets that asda and tesco sell are more than adequate.
