As a sexy teenager I was mad on BMX. I hadn't riden in fifteen years but then I found that Unit3Sixty skatepark in Stourbridge does an over 30s night every other Tuesday. I've been going for about six months now and whilst my skills have long since vanished its a right laugh.
Whatever you ride: BMX, skateboard, inline, quad, scooter everyone is welcome. The session is really friendly and there is a really good range of skill levels from totally rad all the way down to absolute beginners. They even do lessons and some guys who had never skated before are now ripping after a few short weeks. (I on the other hand still totally suck
). Whatever, its really supportive and inclusive, and cos it's over 30s you don't have to worry about being laughed at by 10 year olds.
The park is awesome as well, there's a massive bowl, a little bowl and a street plaza, which is perfect for beginners.
So if you live in the midlands area, why not come down and relive your youth? It's only five quid for 2 hours 8pm to 10pm every other Tuesday.
I'm the berk on the white BMX who looks like he'd be more suited to knitting.
Here's a vid from the first session they held at the beginning of the year:
