Just wondered if anyone is into photography? Some of the collection shots on here are pretty good so I wondered whats the best non-star wars photo you have taken?

Here's one of my favourites 8)

(for anyone who saw Big Cat Diaries about a year ago, thats little Toto the Cheetah cub. We spotted him before the TV guys did. Unfortunately he disappeared a couple of weeks later and hasn't been seen since :( )

The pic which I use as my avatar and the one of the Mandarin duck are probably among my faves.

Nice macro shot Gustie, wouldn't mind getting me a macro lens at some point 8)

Like the shot of the tall waterfall in Iceland in particular Alex. Looks like you've had some good trips.

Thanks Simon. Although that one kind of annoys me a wee bit as the framing could have been better. Ah well, good excuse to go back! ;)

Some nice pictures there guys! 8)
Although Alex's picture of Capilano suspension bridge just reminded me of how much that thing scared the **** out of me when I went over it.
I'm sooo not good with heights

You and me both, mate!

Those are some great pics Alex 8) You've sure gotten around a bit! Was in Iceland myself last year, awesome scenery in parts

Its a waterproof one cost about £180 but that was a couple of years ago now, the NYC ones were taken on my new DSLR

my cam was cheaper than that lol

its D-slr style with all the features except the lense is fixed... thats probably good for me as id probably **** the sensor up anyways

still learning how to use the DSLR and havent had much chance to yet, used to love my film one but couldnt be arsed with all of the processing

ive only pissed about with a few settings it has quite a few nice presets and i do my figure macro pics on the Program AE with the F5 setting what ever that is lol and the white balance on 3/4 on ISO64

i dont really understand it all yet - so whats the difference of using ISO64 to ISO1600 (thats my cameras range)

is it less noisy at 64 or at the higher setting?

ISO refers to the "speed" of the film - when we used to use that!

basically, the lower the number the more light needed for a good exposure but also the better the quality and less "noise", high ISO's are useful for low light conditions but will be grainier or have more "noise"

You used to have to use different films in the past to achieve the same thing that you can now with just a click or a press of a button, as in you would have to buy 100 ISO film or 1600 ISO film.
