ive heard so many stories of people buying lots and finding a dt hidden away
someone listing a standard figure on ebay not knowing it was a DT as the saber wasnt pulled out

so anyone here get lucky?

Some may know how I got my DT Luke ( community present ) still makes me cry & smile when I look at it.

Anyway Junior & I regularly visit the local second hand retro toy shop at the weekend markets. We sort out the vintage Star Wars when it comes in. A few months ago : pricing & putting out a new lot I noticed a very flat tipped Luke saber. Sure enough inner saber flush with the outer. His wife had failed to sell it that morning for $30. I laughed arranged with another local collector to buy it & everyone was happy :D

The inner is slightly darker yellow, initially thought it may have been a reproduction but I think it hadn't seen the light of day for years.

did the local collector pay $30 for it the end

i look on ebay.com and. ca for normal luke fbs listings with a hidden dt as they are the most commonly found dt figures these days but to no avail as of yet.

Well, I was offered a first shot vlix, Glasslite Vlix, Vlix coin, Ben and Vader DT and a complete set of loose Droids and Ewoks figures, which I bought.

By the time I sold the vlix's, the coin and all the loose droids/ewoks, I'd got more than my money back which also meant I had the Ben and Vader for free!! 8)

Thats a great story, and the Mumbo one always cracks me up

I got lucky on my partial DT Vader and my broken DT Ben in that I just joined the forum and noticed the FS post from Bram. I believe I was 3rd in the queue from memory and the first few pulled out. Bram kindly accepted a payment plan for a newbie :-)
I paid £300 for Vader and was offered (and obviously turned down) £955 just a month ago.

Wow that is a great story richard

The mumbo story is also fantastic, mumbo is the DT KING  Mumbo boy please tell us the story again

I want to hear the Mumbo story. :)

 You'll have to do some digging through old threads, something to do with forum members owning DT figures...... or just wait for Richard to pipe up......

an old classic whereby we were counting the DT figures (and other rarer items like vcj, yak etc) and mumbo who'd only been on the boards for about 20 minutes or so proclaimed to own, not one but two of the Vader telescoping variety. :D Turns out they were single telescoping much to our delight.

I thought I'd give Rich the honour as it had been sooooo long since he last got the pleasure

I bought a Luke Dt on eBay for £120 , got him graded and sold him for almost £400 , 3 weeks later . I wish I had kept him now , but that's another thread
