Anyone ever accidentally bought a first shot?

I've been looking at a lot of pics of preproduction and first shots in people's collections and it seems that, from the photos at least, often there's not a lot of difference between the first shots and the final production pieces. It got me wondering if anyone had ever been a jammy git and bought a fig off eBay or whereever only to realise when they got it that it was actually a first shot. Anyone ever got lucky?

to the OP: Found FS in the wild are not really worth much.....it is all about provence. If they are not really different it will get hard to confirm they are FS....though.

On preproduction stuff it is all about: where did it come from (Kenner source) when..pics...COA...etc


So mostly ...even if you find something in the wild...just forget about it...you cannot proof it in 99% of the finds.....
