Has anyone every dealt with an Ebay seller called captintefal ?

I fairly recently won a luke sky walker farm boy for a reasonably good price.

I was pretty happy with my win until I received the figure.

It was posted in a plastic sealer bag in a padded envelope, the light sabre was not protected in any way, it looks light the thin tip of the light sabre has been bent during transit.

The main problem is that its a very cheap painted repro sabre and you can see the black plastic underneath where some as the paint has rubbed off.

I was fuming and have opened a case on Ebay as the listing did not say anything at all about it being a repro sabre, if I had have known this I would have stayed well away. I have yet to hear back from this seller, he has other figures for sale on there as well.

Has anyone on here dealt with this guy before or had this happen?

Sorry to hear this, have had this happen a few times myself and it's very frustrating particularly when you think it's a bargain (probably why it went so cheap).

Each time I've contacted the seller first and have been able to resolve the matter with a full refund but have been out of pocket with return postage.

If the seller doesn't respond eBay should favour with you and you'll just need to return the item (recorded). Given that they haven't been in contact I would leave a negative comment but if they start co-operating then neutral with at least a mention of reproduction is sufficient.

Good luck :)

Thanks for your advice. I actually meant to contact the seller and ask about this but it opened a case, I don't know what I did to be honest, im not too good with computers, but either way its definitely a repro and it should have been stated in the listing.

Maybe he didn't have any idea, so I don't really want to start negging yet, im going to give it a couple more days.

Thanks again for your reply.

I will try to get one for you but bear with me im not the best on computers.

Here we go mate http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STAR-WARS-Vintage-Kenner-Figure-LUKE-SKYWALKER-Blonde-Hair-1977-HK-/261392123331?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=4b%252F5JduduFITrrE5JAJZvh%252BQyoM%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

he knew it was a repro

i assume all auctions on ebay now have repro weapons unless stated original in the listing

Thanks guys, im still pretty new to the vintage collection scene but know a poor repro when I see one.

Just had a message from the seller and he was really apologetic and said he didn't know it was a repro and is does not have much knowledge about vintage figures, repros etc but has offered me a full refund and additional extra to cover the cost of return postage.

Cant really say fairer than that really as long as he refunds me what he says once he receives the item.

Make sure you return the item signed for and all will be well.

He has 100% feedback after 2000+ deals which isn't easy.
