Sorry mate to hear that it is a lot worse in the uk :(

It was terrifying hearing the boss of the NHS saying we'll be lucky if we only have 20,000 deaths. Now that the numbers are ramping up I really hope people start to take it seriously. It only hits home when someone you know gets it and tells you how bad it is.
This website give you up to date figures in the UK regions. It's really scary :

Thets just hope social deterioration doesn't dissolve into tribal governmental groups and traffic wardens totting SLRs.....Bag of jelly beans if you get that reference.

As a member of staff in an organisation that's customer facing and having to hand out parcels etc to the public - I'd like to share with you a few experiences I've had to endure this week.

With no guidance or PPE from our management, we've had to be responsible for ourselves. We've put countless signs up regarding " Is this trip essential?" Etc which are blatently ignored by the public, who clearly know better.

I've had a young women demanding her parcel of make up as she'd paid for it and it was her right. After a volley of abuse she left.

A gentleman saying he was collecting medication and the tube shaped parcel we gave him was from a well known sex toy company.

Elderly at risk people who are coughing - I had someone cough in my face - or spluttering who get on their high horse when told they shouldn't be out.

The number of people who are either ignoring or are oblivious to what's happening truly astounds me.

I've been called all the names under the sun purely as I'm trying to protect not only myself and my colleagues but also the public who are carrying out unnecessary trips. I'm more than happy if the item is important or if that person is a key worker but when it's something that can wait and be redelivered, surely common sense should prevail? Possibly not.

I know it's a small minority but these are the people who are spreading their **** around. It's so infuriating. I don't want us to be closed up but we get no support from management who are only interested in profit and view us as cattle.

Apologies for ranting, but it's driving me up the wall.

That's **** mate, I'm really sorry to hear it. My work's still open but luckily I'm not customer-facing and we do have some pretty good measures in place for social distancing, PPE and wipes etc...

I has an order to pick up from B&Q, (they bring it to you in the car park) and in the 60 seconds I was there two people pulled up expecting to be able to walk straight in and shop as usual.

My mother-in-law told us a story this weekend (over Skype - stay safe kids!)... a female friend of hers was on the phone to a male friend who invited himself over to her house, so they could sit in the garden and have a catch-up. When she told him it wasn't a good idea due to the current situation he had NO IDEA about the lockdown or anything. This is from a main in his 70s. Truly, truly astounding.

It's crazy how some people are not following the advice or are simply oblivious to it.

I had to go to the bank today, and they had lined up chairs 3 metres apart outside and said please keep the advised safe distance, and use the chairs as markers there were 2 " gentlemen! " who proceeded to sit on the chairs, and wait for their friend in the queue , not wanting to be unkind but thes 2 gentleman were unwashed and very unpleasant coughing and spitting! Whilst on their mobile phones, next news a lady from the bank asked them to move very politely to which they said " we are waiting for our mate Paul" luckily a police van was in the vicinity and a police officer showe d them the error of their ways and moved them on
Now I'm a very understanding person but it made me so angry to see how this played out, these two blokes had no consideration for others at all and were obvious uncaring and selfish.
Why can't people just simply step out of whatever their normal attitude to life is and understand that their actions may be harmull, offensive or downright dangerous to others

I do hope that society can learn lessons from this when we eventually reach the other side and that we can live in a more considerate and caring society, we are always going to get the minority that don't care and are selfish, but in the main if we can all pull together and " get it" we will all be safer, the NHS will be able to cope and lives WILL BE SAVED

Keep safe all

The danish prime minister said today that the corona virus looks like to be so much under control so after easter we will begin to open up the country slowly if it looks good after easter and that people still need to do the same as they do now, wash hands, stay away from our old people, only be 5 people together and try to stay indoor as much as possible. If people stop doing that then it can get worse and then we will not start to open up slowly after easter, maybe the government will make more laws to protect us more if it get worse with the corona virus.

So I hope people will still do the same here in denmark so we can slowly begin to get back to a normal world.

I hope it will also begin soon to get better in the uk so you guys can get a normal life again

Got to go to Tesco's on Sunday, went there Sunday just gone and people inside were not abiding by the 2 metre rule so this time I'll be wearing my GVS asbestos mask! I'll look stupid but I'll feel like I have done my best to avoid exposure.

It would be a good idea to wear eye protection also if your going to take a mask. Your just right at least that's cutting down your chances of infection.

In Tokyo, where i'm living, it's mostly business as usual.
However, the govt has urged people to stay in during the weekends and not to go to bars and restaurants and any entertainment places in the evenings.
It's viewing these places as potential concerns of infection due to the number of patrons.
However, it's fine to hop on the crowded trains to go to work.
Scratch my head at that one.

My office closed for two weeks during the onset at the start of march.
Now it seems, as cases are on the rise, more businesses are making their own arrangements: some department stores close earier, some cafes and bars have closed indefinitely.
Govt closed libraries yet the gambing parlours remain open.
It's a mixed bag with responsibility put in the hands of the individual or business owner.
There was panic buying last month, still cant find hand sanitiser or masks, but stocks arent a problem.
Got a load of stock of stuff ready for a possible earthquake anyway.
There's a lot of anxiety here, but just trying to be as careful as possible.

Already got some glasses in the car that my wife got me from her lab, so will be using those with the mask.

The reason there's no sanitizer is because of the china lockdown, the compaines that make the sanitizer have plenty of chemicals, but no dispenser bottles.

Working from home sucks

I think that you will find it's better than not working at all...

True, but getting very angry phone calls from directors over nothing to do with you isn't the nicest of things.

Very stressful time for those of us working from home and dealing with issues with a lot of colleagues on furlowe it's always going to be hard, all we can do is look for positives and keep going collectively it's hard, but there are those out there out of work, worried and even worse there are people and loved one dying.
I'm working from home and finding it very stressful ( although my work is stressful at the best of times) I have on,y seen my grandkids on FaceTime for 3 weeks now, and that is really hard to bear, but I'm still here and still getting on with it
These times are testing and we WILL get through it because that's what we do, be proud of that and look to happier times in the future where hopefully we come out of this a better and more caring and appreciative society

Keep your chin up mate your doing a fine job your keeping the lights on
