Yeah almost identical. They are made by Hasbro to the original specs, figure, weapons, stickers, inserts, box everything.

I also collect Transformers, but these that you posted Pete are actually counterfeits and not official Hasbro product. Here's a site that documents them. The rumor at one point was that a couple of Chinese manufacturers found some of the original molds in factories that Hasbro doesn't own anymore. There has also been talk of some reverse engineering on them too. Regardless you are right in the quality on them is way up there that they almost pass as official Hasbro product.

Hasbro has done official reissues though and most of them were exclusive to TRU. If I remember right they went from about 2003-2005, but the TRU prices were so high that they didn't sell very well and were discontinued. Since then, Hasbro has done them every now and then as SDCC exclusives. Here's a pic of what the TRU reissues looked like.

Takara, still does reissues in Japan and started even before those Hasbro ones. You can tell them from the Japanese language packaging. They started with very G1 type packaging, then went to the bookstyle like the Hasbro ones, and now they're back to G1 inspired with the Encore line. The big granddaddy, Fortress Maximus, is in fact next on the list in a few months.
