Any spurs fans out there

Hi Ben, I'm not going tonight sorry. It looks like it will be a great atmosphere though, I read it will be the biggest attendance of any British CL match? I've also seen a few pics up online of them cladding Wembley with a host of WHL style banners/hoardings too which is a nice touch!
Enjoy the match - COYS! :D

**** only just saw this, would have been good but no ticket :( cracking game, should have at least drawn based on the second half but it's often a game of luck (as Arsenal proved the night before)

Started really brightly. Monaco offered nothing first half. They had two breaks and two shots on goal and scored twice.

We looked a lot better with dembele on the pitch for a while but he needs to get match sharp. There was too much playing across the back line and no one coming to get the ball and drive it into midfield and forward. He seemed to look like the player that was going to do that in the second half.

We certainly didn't deserve to lose.

Out of interest how did you get tickets? I don't understand how 80,000 tickets can sell for a club that only have a 35,000 seater stadium without them going to general sale!

They do have circa 50k members as a club, so they automatically get priority before general sale at phased times pending their membership; Lilywhite, Bronze and Silver.
Its a part of how they quote such a massive waiting list for season tickets (c35k I think) in their end of year financial reports.

They also have one of the largest count supporters clubs scene in Europe (I know mental right), but you'll find that most large towns and Cities have an official supporters club. I stress not just the UK either, there are tonnes across Europe (and the world) that actively attend matches.

Swindon for example has c300 members in its supporters club! Cheltenham has its own one too and its a only c30 minute drive away. Supporters clubs generally organise transport to WHL, certainly CL and often away games at a stupidly cheap cost. The supporters clubs can also pre-book chunks of tickets for their members (who are part of the c50k mentioned above), but get priority over the main on-sale to members dates.

The other benefits of the supporters clubs is access to training days at the training ground, pitch side presentations etc. I've had the benefit of these days out myself when I was on the committee of the Swindon club.

I used to be a Lilywhite member when I lived in London, but can't go to enough games to justify it any more. Even with just the standard membership I have now it's usually easy enough to get general sale tickets for the less in demand games. It looks like I'm not going to be able to go to any games this season, as the lesser capacity at WHL due to building work seems to have put all non-season ticket holders in to ballots! I'm just surprised the CL tickets are so scarce.

Exactly as Steve says. I have a Lilywhite membership. I think it's been running for 10/11 years or so. I used to go to a lot more games then I do now.

The club did a deal for a three match champions league ticket that was only avaliable to members. I got one of those. It was about £80 I think for all three matches. Same seat for them all. Best part is that if we get through I will get first refusal at the seat for all subsequent matches.

I did get to go to three of the previous champions league fixtures, young boys, twente and werder Bremen but found it impossible to get tickets for either Milan game or the real game. At least this way I will get to see all of the matches.

I did Milan away last time we were in the CL, great few days away and after a shocking 1st half, the match even turned out to be a lot better too...
