just looking at a astra 1.7 dti diesel van on a 03 plate .its done 90,000 miles .bloke at garage says they are solid vans but have a problem with the engine computers and if they break it costs £1600 to get fixed ,he did add this was on the earlier models and its done enough miles to proberly have got pass any faults .just wondered if anyone new anything on this matter as i am sick of bad luck when it comes to motors

got two options
either buy a old vectra estate for 500 and hope it lasts 8 months or borrow to get a nice van that could even go wrong anyway

Very tuff choice jabba. Is there not any other cars you can get for under 500 with a year tax and a year MOT. Has any one else here had problems with with vauxhall and there computer managment. I have had loads

the "brain" can be fault code read and reset? you can buy little gadgets that can sort the ECU out for these?
