They took out Xbox live on Xmas eve and psn on Christmas day then it went tits up for some users on Boxing Day evening on psn.

I only got to play in the snow for an hour or two

A problem i'm finding with the PS4 GTA is the crate drops. There are now more players in a lobby and it's like every single person is pouncing on those damned crates. Haven't got one :x

The snow was great fun, snowball fights, drift racing, the flying missions became a nightmare :lol: We had snow on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day New Years Eve and New Years Day. It was a white Christmas in the House of Chubb.

Don't worry about the crates, just do a mission instead or create a friends/crew only room and you can take it in turns getting the crates and Simeon cars.

Weirdly, since picking up the new PS, I haven't been on GTA that much. The new Advanced Warfare is awesome so been playing that online. Someone told me it got some bad reviews but I can tell you they are all full of ****. Superb game 8)

You know fellas it really pisses me off reading this thread! As an xbox man i have gta v, advanced warfare, fifa on that console but my mates are rarely online nowadays so i just play online vs strangers in the main. I have ps4 but am not willing to buy the games again and start from scratch as i have a good rank on the xbox versions. GRRR. The only games i have on ps4 are singstar and the last of us remastered! I just cannot jusstify starting at rank 1 on gta v when im nearly 200 on xbox. Having to earn all the cars, guns etc again. And Cod im 7th prestige and am no way starting from the start again on that bastard :lol: Hope your all having fun tho and to be honest at least it saves you all from the dominating force taking over muuwaahhahahah :twisted:

I wonder if you can transfer from XB1 ot PS4 and vice versa...

XB360, PS3, XB1 and PS4 can all transfer over to PC but there is no mention of XB1 to PS4 on the Rockstar website.

Problem with my pals is when gta v 1st came out the online play was ****, full of bugs and you could harldy do anything so they all got rid. I was the only 1 who perseveered. If only i'd have sold it like they did early doors i couldve started again with you guys no problems.

I remember hearing this at the time, it was ready with the launch of the game and everyone got a million to help soothe the pain...

I got the game late and spent ages playing the storymode before I ventured online so it was all good by the time I tried it. I wasn't even concerned about online at first, I only signed in to access the Bawsaq stock market after an in game 'random event', a friend saw me signed in and coaxed me into playing online. Can't beleive I spent all that time amassing billions in storymode only to never go there again :lol: :lol:

The one thing that really pisses me off about it is making money - it's so ****ing tedious. I've watched all these Youtube tutorials on how to make cash in GTA online and basically it boils down to this - you can only make decent money by doing jobs. I only want a frigging helicopter! That'll take forever!

I used to find this but it just rolls in now...

A recent update saw all the mission payouts change and basically the longer a mission takes the more you get paid for it, you also get bonuses for playing with others and crew members. I think you get 10% extra payout for each player on a mission. If you get in with a good group you can average $15,000 a mission and well over $20,000 for some missions.

I have never glitched or cheated for my money or purchased GTA dollars, I have a tank, a buzzard attack chopper (this is what you need) fully pimped cars in every class, three 10 car garages and 2.3 million in the bank. You have to get in the habit of not spending and it soon builds up, and don't get roped into battle antics in freemode as this just eats up your ammo and costs you money whereas everything else earns you money.

The races and parachuting earns small amounts, death matches and LTS earn small if you lose but payout well if you win. Survivals are shite, I have run up $17,000 ammo bills on these, so be careful as they also drag on for ages.

Also purchase all ammo before every mission or this builds up too, sell a car at the start and end of every session...

The last session we had with Mumbo was a great example. Four of us playing (plenty of 4 player missions available) switching between different missions, deathmatches and races earned us all a bit of cash while having a good laugh at the same time. The good old days before the dark times, before the PS4 :lol: :lol:

Edit: You can always visit the PS store and pick up some GTA dollars, £64 for $8,000,000 or £2 for £100,000 :wink:

I have been doing only missions and trying to stay away from the antics out on the street. It helps to stay in passive mode ...or just not go out at all! Only thing is you get in these lobbies and people just want to do races which earn sod all. I never win them because they leave traffic ON ( :evil: ) so there's no point. As far as i know you have to win to unlock car mods. I usually open up my own lobby and do solo races. It lets you do that twice before another becomes the host.

Jr Jr loves to get me to spend real money on GTA money so he can just waste it on blowing up strangers with sticky bombs :lol:

What you need to do is 'Join contact mission' or host a mission yourself, this way you should join or attract a group of mission players to get a good session going. The trouble is when there are no missions on the voting screen everyone leaves the bloody session instead of doing a race or parachute jump to keep the session going. Sometimes you can spend a while trying to get a group of mission players together, I also accept friend requests just for one session so if you find like minded players you can find each other again, then I just delete them next time I log in.

As for people joining your session when you don't want them too, pause the game and go into your online settings and change matchmaking to closed, this will only let people you invite join your races or missions and leave you as the host. you can then temporarily change this on the hosting screen if you want random players to turn up or sessions to merge.

You could always just go back a generation to play with the Chubb, he is skint in real life but loaded in GTA :wink:
