What is the point of this. If you want a Vintage Falcon...Buy a vintage falcon. I hope they paid the kid on the box a ton of money to get a 70's haircut....This is just dumb in my opinion.

I've always wanted to see a scale version for ythe vintage figures. The original is about 7 times to small. Having said that it would need to be about 7 or 8 feet long.
Is this the same size as the original or have they made it a little bigger like they did the modern AT-AT which came out a couple of years back, which by the way was pretty cool. 8)

Looks like another one from the original mold. They have managed to make the Ship/Pod that was supposed to go in the center of the falcon. This was in prototype phase back in the 70's. I would by that piece loose...but not this likely overpriced rehash of falcon.

Hey Pete.

If you want a big Falcon have you seen the "Legacy Collection Millenium Flacon" Its 2 and a half foot long and the best Modern piece IMO! 8)

BTW For me thats Pretty Cool! I will probably be getting one when they arrive on our shores. :)

This is the reissue of the Legacy Falcon, only with retro packaging, and the small ship is an escape pod located where the vintage one has the battieries.

They're strictly playing on the nostalgia here. The thing is that modern collectors will eat this up and say a vintage boxed falcon is too much. I haven't see the price point yet on this, but the first release of this bigger falcon was around $180 retail and you could find a nice boxed complete falcon for that much, if not even less.

If this was from the original mold it would be outrageous, just like the POTF2 shuttle.
This one is BIG, and I like it myself, but the escape pod ship thing I could do without,
it was originally done to fit on the front, but they changed it at the last minute if I remember correctly.
I like the light up features and the sound effect when the ramp descends is cool.
Not going to buy it though, my love is for the vintage falcon! 8)

I am with Shawn on this one. The retail price on this far exceeds the price of a nice vintage falcon. The past is....well in the past....this holds no nostalgia for me. Just a repackaged modern toy made to look like something that today's kids really do not remember or could care less about.

I would love one of these, I have a few modern pieces,Xwing, Tie fighter, tie bomber, we have the latest AT AT walker too and it kicks ass!!! Well almost, my son prefers the vintage one because he can pick it up and move it, the new one is to big
It dwarfs the vintage AT AT, there is room for Veers in the cockpit, a motor operated rope for Luke, a speeder bike hidden in the back (the feet are a bit large, but this is just to make it more stable) sound effect galore...

I would go on but maybe a video review is best...

The next one is for the AT AT Walker and is my favourite Star Wars video review of all time, might not be your cup of tea but if you like part 1 then check out part 2....

Hope they satisfy the curiosity of those who know nothing about these versions these vehicles. I was not a fan until I watched reviews like these...

This is the kind of scale it would need compared to the vintage figures to be to mirror the scale in the movie i reckon. 8)

yep i too was bugged by scale as a kid,,

me when 8 yrs old pausing the VHS,, "wait the snowspeeder gets crushed by the at-at's foot?"

i ran straight to my mates house (who had a At-At ) and was disgusted that it was all wrong.

Also i was the kid who hated the packs of toy soldiers with 1:72 scale tanks mixed in with 1:32 scale soldiers.
maybe as i was an airfix kid i also understood,, or maybe i was just being an annoying ****. :D

I would love a big falcon and the legacy was all the wrong colours,, but hmmm maybe i might be interested,, but i would prefer and origional one.

I reckon it would be doable for someone with the tools and skills, to make one more to scale using the moulds for the original as a guide. Going from my picture above tho it would need to be 5 or 6 feet long. It would pretty much be the coolest thing ever tho. 8) 8)

Very cool. Do you know how much that ATAT went for in the end? When was it sold?

Have not got a clue unfortunately. I tried finding more about it with an online search but drew a blank as I was not sure what terms to search for. An email to the site the images are on might help, I remember seeing it somewhere else, don't know where though :(

Two great peices :D
