Just shows you what some fancy editing and theatrical music can do doesn't it? Wait..does that mean FA could actually be a pile of ****?

It's definitely a worry! :?

Though the fancy trailer for TPM does make you wonder what could have been!?!

It still looks **** to me!

The voice over works well, but the rest just looks kack. It's probably because I know how bad the film is, but when I see kid Anakin I get pissed off. The Pod racing never really did much for me either, as for Jar Jar swimming into the Gungan city, Yay CGI!

Ba humbug.

I love TPM.

I don't have a massive amount of love for JarJar but I don't hate him.

If you ask my kids who they prefer, R2 & C3PO or JarJar then it's prequel all the way I'm afraid!

Oh Grant, that's giving me nightmarish flashbacks... I once had a set-up almost exactly the same... oh the shame and the pain (of the wasted money)
Thank God my son needed his own bedroom and I had to take it all down

It was only wasted money if you looked on them as investments IMO. Too many people thought that and it bit many people in the ass. TPM toy line was probably the last line to come out of the PT that looked normal. the AOTC toy packaging was awful as were the ROTS line. Silly fat bubbles, and poor sculpts IMO. Jesus im surprised they didnt sell figures with a masturbatiin feature as they could do anything else!!! They learnt their lesson from the POTF2 line and went back to basics for TPM. I think we forget sometimes that these are designed to be played with, and they shouldnt be listening to the needs of collectors.

I remember a guy buying around 25 Darth Maul figures because he was gonna lock them away :D -what a wanker :)

Didn't buy them as an investment, I bought them initially just for the excitement of the new films and briefly felt that they were cool to have and would give me a feeling the vintage pieces did/still do. I did enjoy the chase of trying to get one of everything, but within a year (having bought most of it in pound shops and discount stores) I remember looking at it displayed in the spare room (much like the photo) and thinking what poor design it all was. Even at £1 a piece the full set of figures quickly added up though...

I remember my girlfriend at the time had a special 1999 diary/time capsule in book form that was made to highlight the fact that it was the end of the century and had an area for pop culture. I stuck a cut out of Darth Maul in it and wrote: "Star Wars Episode I is going to be the biggest and best movie ever!"

Whoops!

I first saw TPM at a friends house prior to the UK release on 'hooky' VHS - everyone fell asleep apart from me.
I remember thinking how boring it was and how annoying a certain Binks character was... After I just felt confused, is this film bad or is it because I'm not looking at it through 'child's eyes' or through rose tinted glasses.
If the TPM was made in say, 1986 would I love it? Have I outgrown Star Wars (well the answer is no and confirmed by Ep7 trailer, I was very emotionally involved :)

I bloody defended that film for ages just because it was Star Wars, I could not stand people mocking the film. I would say "wait til Episode II".

After Episode II - I gave up. I agree with all who say the prequels are utter tripe. I could defend or apologise for one bad episode but three? No way matey.

I could go on and on and on about what was wrong with those three films. I won't.
At least we have the Plinkett reviews. Funny, but oh so accurate!
