Been sooooo busy since I moved house in to the middle of nowhere last year, thought we would move away from the city & have more time to relax & enjoy the slower pace of life - yeah right!, not stopped doing bloody D.I.Y'ing since I got here

Most of it is self inflicted though, as well as the below projects I am almost fnished with I have, made myself a proper workshop so I can actually get things done & find my tools when I want to do something, never had that b4 & its the bomb!, also half way through insulating a HUGE loft space, done the floor in all 3 sections of the space & have got half through the eve's but what a right PITA! - the tit who owns the property has only nailed all the bloody plasterboards to the beams  :? & done the same for the 8x4 floor boards with 3.5" nails, been a right labour of love I can tell you & the reason no one has seen hide nor hair from me in the last 12 months at least.

Below are -

Wood curing shed which is a right beast @ 21 x 19 x 6.5 x 23' & took me bloody ages
Potting shed for SHMBO, currently in use as a baby chicken rearing house :?
Climbing frame for the kids - all recycled stuff from off the beach bar the wood & fixings
Chicken run

Also had to install a solid fuel central heating/hot water system with 11 radiators & support the roof & re enforce it on one side as it was bloody collapsing - been rather busy TBH, sooo glad its finally slowing down as I can't wait to get going with my next project, one that's for only me! :D

Oh & not to be forgotten - chicken run & housing for them, again for SHMBO

Will all be worth it in the long run though as when the losft space is done I will have enough space to display all my SW collection 8)

Fox will dig under that fence no bother though!

Thanks Weaz, not much likelihood of that TBH where I live as the gamekeeper is always right on it as its pheasant country here dude, we have 2 outdoor cats, I have a gun & the bloody chickens never stay in the god dam pen either  - see on the photo - ones on the outside

I moved from the city 12 months back & used to see 100's of foxes, only needed to go round the local park on the road & you would see 5 or 6 of them, been coming up here on holiday for 18 years/living here for 12 months & the only fox I have ever seen here was on the side of the gamekeepers little wagon & I am always out & about in the fields beaches & dunes.

Which makes for excellent chicken country

have you seen those plastic wall spikes you can get to stop cats ect, you can turn those upside down and bet them at the base of the fence, they cost ****all too :)

I lived in the country for 20 odd years, rarely saw a fox. Heard the ****ers, but rarely saw them. My folks had chickens and a coop like yours. They lasted about a year then the fox got them.

I think you misunderstood my reply, I was not disagreeing with what you have said Weaz & appreciate the heads, up bud but I know chickens & the sly fox go hand in hand so to speak, so I always have the radar switched on, I know there is a high risk, but there are seriously not that many foxes here compared with most parts as I am right on the end of a peninsular & not to many places they can put a den & not get found within 12 months.

keep your fingers crossed for me as its my better half's little hobby & she would be devastated to find a slaughterhouse scene in the garden one morning - yep I am fully aware of the destruction they leave behind - kill everything!

TBF the fixes got my folks Chickens twice. Once they just disappeared one at a time (they used to let them roam round the garden). The second time the fox dug in and got them, all that was left was a few feathers, no blood at all, surprisingly.

Easy enough to replace though, assuming you don't have any fancy obscure breeds!
