Looks like it'll be a good watch, glad to see Gazza is in it - he's looking a lot better lately than he has done in the past.

Still can't believe we didn't get to the final, 20 years ago.

Not sure I can watch this, open an old cut.

Gascoigne came within inches just failing too reach with a sliding poke shot from recollection

Yeah and didn't someone hit the post, Anderton?

Should have been our year. I think this year is our best chance since :)

I agree should have been our year, although I remember we were lucky against Spain. We had Germany on the ropes. Great summer that was up until then. Summer I left School. :p

That was a great summer indeed 8)

Definitely going to watch on catch up as bloody working

Yeah Ian Wright was always pushed out, as was Andy Cole.

50 years of hurt.

And le god! Le tissier he was amazing.....

Just because he played for southampton a little team and not a big team! had he move to man u or arsenal he would of been a instant pick everytime

Really enjoyed watching that last night. Even though I'm not a huge football fan (I don't follow any clubs these days) football has always been a part of my life and I remember that particular tournament very well (I was 11 and the England vs Spain match was played on my birthday!)

I think the 90's was the last time I ever felt like I could relate to footballers tbh, simply because at that time they were still (for the most part) just normal blokes who enjoyed a laugh and a few drinks..not millionaires with private jets! Perhaps that's why we all have such fond memories of that squad in particular, because they were just like us?

Yeah I think that's why I don't watch soccer as much now. Back then the 90s you had some tough nuts on that England team and clubs. Guys that would literally go through a wall if needed to win! You had Pearce, ince, and a few others even shearer was a brave man. You would know if you wer playing against them keown , adams or butcher you wer in for a long evening.
I think now with so much money involved in the game the players don't have the same loyalty to the clubs. So that inner fight you need to win when the screw tightens to win isn't there. So if it doesn't work out they move on to the next highest bidder.
I see that heart still in Rooney when he plays but he's not the player he was.
