:? The missus is cleaning my vintage storing corner.......ahhhhh... she doesnt understand.....ahhhh.....she threw a moc in a starcase to the side......and shes tossed around baggie too. No care!

I better go back and see if shes finished. Shes been threathing for months to do this i thought she was joking....****ety **** ****

The trick is offer now and again to do the dusting yourself, and selectively choose your vintage display to be dusted as part of that routine. You keep the vintage safe and get brownie points.

That's like a bad nightmare I found my old Falcon box put it out in the shed. I came back dad and brother had piled other bits on top of it it wasn't in great shape to start with but what they done didn't help it's case.
My wife always says to me I shouldn't leave things sitting around if I don't want them touched. I have now learned she's right.
Hopefully your wife soon stops cleaning I know the feeling and its not nice :lol:

Fell for you Chris, I actually took the unmanly initiative the other day & did a full spring clean in my display room, dusted all my cases & had everything off the shelves, pulled my vintage sleeping bags off the floor & hoovered it out but figured it's overdue & less painful that seeing her in there mate, fingers crossed nothing gets damaged & maybe this is the reminder you need to do it a couple of times a year to keep the devil at bay, still got all my cabinets scattered round the house to get done, think your thread is the incentive I need, so you have done some good posting this, I can see many many SWFUKer's rapidly running for a duster :lol:

I feel your pain buddy, I had a text yesterday while at work.

"Clearing out the junk under the stairs, what can I bin?"

Was in a cold sweat trying to work out what I'd left under the stairs!! Told her nothing and I'd sort out later!

Almost a full set of ROTJ comics, lego, subbuteo and Star com stuff she'd have binned the lot given half a chance. god help me if she ever goes in the loft

Luckily I don't have too much vintage, and what I have my Mrs knows it's worth and in the main leaves me be to do what I want with it.

She is bloody eagle eyed though and doesn't miss a thing, during Celebration I only went to collectors track talk,(big regret) and therefore left with only 1 coin.

The other day I purchased another coin and left it on the shelf with my MOC, queue question, 'oh, bought another coin have we???' Not that she minds, she just likes to wind me up about it all.

I've never had any real problems with girlfriends in the past.

Mind you my last one did ask if I put my collection before her and if I'd sell it.

Consequently we are no longer together!

This is true i cant be bothered though i think i will in future she was a bit rough with my starcases.

Nothing was damaged she is tolerant of my collecting habits so i should in repayment dust it dowm and keep it organised now and again.

To be fair its alot neater now i need to get my **** together and keep it all in one area its scattered around the house currently and i need to downsize also.
