I've finally succomed to the curiosity of seeing what grades my figures may get from those fellows at the AFA.

A couple of quick questions if anyone can help.

A) Do they accept personal cheques from us lot in the UK? I don't think anything says that they don't, but you can never be too careful.

B) I'm grading a Palitoy DSD 20 back and a 77 back Boba Fett. Can I get away with plumping for the under $200 tier with both? I paid less than that for both, but I have no idea what they're percieved to be worth.

Thanks in advance.

In answer to a) I don't believe they do, only credit/debit card from the UK as far as I know. As for b) try it. They won't know their arse from their elbow when it comes to values (especially Palitoy) to be frank
Just bear in mind that they probably won't allow you to have higher insurance for the return journey though.

Cool. Thanks for that. I'm a little bit nervous about sending them out into the great beyond again I must admit, but it will be nice to at least get some handle of how flaws affect grading. Mind you, given some of the random appraisals I've seen, who knows?!!

Well I've posted my Palitoy dsd and rotj boba fett to the afa (with a fair amount of trepidation I hasten to add) using the standard tier.

What are most people's experiences with this? Have you been emailed to say that they're finished and on their way back...and is the 30-40 business days pretty much adhered to or are there some earlier/later?

I just AFA'd my first Palitoy MOC. The details are on this thread:-

On turnaround time, they were pretty much bang on the 40 day mark for me.

good luck with the grading because im impatient i always go for the quickest turnover time with is still a long time to wait sending it there and back

what makes me laugh ppl are using this uk grading service just to sell things, i seen so many on ebay recently with ppl saying how great the service is, so why not keep the item then ? and whats even funnier they are asking as much as if it was done by afa

and while i am on a moan why the **** is it whenever i want something on ebay everyone bids so it costs me more then when i try to sell the ****ing thing at a cheaper rate noone bids at all............ :)

I also noticed all th Ukg stuff on ebay only reason i end up selling stuff is changing of focus. Usually at a lost

Just occured to me, I might be away when the items are due to be redelivered. Is there anyway I could contact the afa and ask them to bump up the grading to a higher tier??!!!
