Could anyone tell me which is best, a graded figure with AFA or UKG, I've seen both and AFA seems more popular, but would it affect the overall price of the figure?

Cheers

TBH mate there is not a lot of Difference.

However, AFA Graded items sell better due to the popularity of them If you are grading to sell on I would recommend them but if you are buying to keep I would recommend both. :)

Afa sell for higher prices- however Ukg do a far superior job of casing- the afa ones I have had rattle like crazy- causing damage after grading.

Also if you are uk based Ukg will save you a small fortune in fees :)

I'd say that afa are less consistent with both there standards of casing and grading of there figure I have both in my collection

Have to agree with the guys,And in my experience UKG are a little harder on grades(I have afa 85s that would not match up to my ukg 80s) :)

What!!! They must have well tightened up!!! Most UKG graded cards I have seen are generally graded 5points above what AFA would grade them.

i can only talk from loose grading experiences but with afa i have lost confidence i have a loose grade barada 90 and it has someones initials on his feet and this is not the first afa figure i have been disappointed with due to grading inconsistency then theres the ones i bought and returned because the figures paint has transferred on the case because the supports are poor although they have got better as for prices there are some afa nuts that pay heavy premiums for afa but from my personal experience buying and selling afa figures do fetch slightly more sometimes on the common figures and are a little easier to sell but last 17 first 12 figures and rarer stuff theres very little in it and ive always manage to sell my ukg figures

Fair point, I am talking from a MOC point of view. At the end of day whoever grades items are human, and we make mistakes and opinion will always differ.

Still AFA for me though every time, they are the standard.

i have 50 50 in my collection i dont think they should make these mistakes at the end of the day people buying these graded figures pay a high premium for afa reputation

i only use ukg now because afa sent back my amanaman and yoda both of them ended up sideways in the case and yoda ended up with loads of paint rub so when for a 85 to around a 70 and ukg are in the uk as well so no import duties as well
