AFA grading how does it work?

I called them up. It got straight 85's which is kinda what I was expecting.

So here it is. I was expecting some kind of grading report with that detailed why it made it's partiular subgrades though.

Any idea on value?

Hi,
I'm new to collecting and want to buy unopened/original/carded figures from ebay at reasonable prices to start with. Many of the ROTJ lot seem slightly more afordable but a lot of them claiming to not be reseals look suspiciously as if they might be.
Am i right to be suspicious? Does this sort of thing go on a lot and do you have
any hints on how to spot a recard from an unopened.

Is this a recard or "original unopened" as it claims?

I was new this this last year, you'll get some great help from the guys on here 8)

Well the seller had 100% feedback for a starters

although not a foolproof method, see if the photo shows the "criss-cross" pattern ..... i think that's what's called? ..... it's a seal press around the edge of the bubble

also look at other sites to compare their versions of the same carded figure ......

Also I know it costs around £20 + shipping for grading but what about customs charge to there and on way back?

I'd say £120+ for an 85, maybe a bit more depending on the sub grades. They come up on Ebay fairly often, give it a few months and you'll find one, other wise try the RS classifieds

Ungraded maybe £120..graded I would of thought more..maybe £180-200 especially for an 85 clear bubble.
I have to admit I haven't really been keeping upto date with moc prices so :roll:

"RS" is another forum, called Rebel Scum (abbreviated to RS cos we're all lazy ****ers who can't be arsed to type it all).
It's a bigger site than ours, and more global. It tends to be more American dominated and can at times get very anal, BUT it is a good source of information and the classifieds are larger than ours. Worth a look.


PS, I still think Josh was high with his estimate! (I think that new coloured sabre has gone to his head, lol)
