AFA 90 ESB/ROTJ Palitoy run on ebay over the next month

Fair play Jason.

I've heard a fair few people saying they are surprised what people will pay for fakes,to his etc. I guess I'm in the minority here, but these will go down in history the same way bootlegs have and some of those aint cheap. They are fakes in reality. In my opinion the word fake isnt 100% accurate, seeing as though genuine parts were used in most cases.

Time will tell, but they do have appeal and I don't beleive the damage will be as bad as first thought.

Thanks, they are still a bit tricky to sell on ebay. Have had a few bid retractions and a buyer pull out 3 days after winning an auction as they didnt
realise what a Toni is. Amazed at the number of buyers who dont read the item descriptions on listings!

:o

Well, todays went really smoothly. Longest I had to wait for a payment was 10 mins!

The last lot of 6 Tonis are up on ebay with a £0.99 starting price and 7 day auction.

Good luck bidding if these are your thing. (Bizarrely the C3PO Removable Limbs has already hit 3 figures. Sought after as Tonis signature piece???)

:P

Glad to hear that you are happy with the sales Jason. I put a couple of cheeky bids in on them but nice (or you) that these all got beat. I am indifferent as to the pricing. I think on one hand, these are still very cheap prices for those grades - and as Lee says, these are part of collector history, even if they aren't factory sealed. However, I guess that they are still fake and to realize those sort of prices suggests that there are people out there will to take a gamble

Ha, thought that was you bidding. Had to resell the Boba Fett to a lower bidder for £300, which is more realistic given what some others have gone for. Looking at making
about 2 grand on these all in, about half what I paid for them. The cash will keep me in sweeties and beer til payday, so I'm happy.

cheers Jason

So does that mean that 3 of the top bidders past on it? I think that's terrible if so as I really don't understand why people bid on things they clearly don't want. Hopefully they weren't other accounts that the same bidder set up to push the price high and then back out of to get it at a lower price.

Some silly bidding on the boba. £1000 right at the start which was cancelled when they realised it was a Toni. A £550 bid from a winning £500 bidder in Singapore who bailed 3 days after the auction ended. They had poor English and said they didn't realise it was a Toni. A £497 bidder who passed the second offer. Then a £350 and a £310 bidders who both wanted to deal round £300. So only one pass up on the second offer really.

Cheers Jason

Still a bunch of time wasters if you ask me. I can't see why someone who gets offered an item they want for 150 less than the winning bid still doesn't think that's the right amount for them even though they placed that bid?!

At least you're happy with the end result which is the main thing. Those tainted MOC's are finally out of your collection and you get to keep what you cherish most. It's so strange how this whole thing has gone, 6 months ago nobody was any the wiser about any of this but it shows you how things can change almost over night sometimes.

Let's hope there aren't any other big surprises out there to take the fun out of all of this.

Maybe people bidding on them are not as honest as you and will sell them on as genuine at a later date. They are graded after all so lots of people will just accept that.

You can't legislate for that unfortunately. These Tonis are reasonably easy to sniff out and we try to put as much info in the public domain to stop people getting stung, but as long as there is money involved people will try it on. Its no different from sellers passing off Kenobi caped Jawas as vinyl caped and those shitty reproduction carded 12 backs on ebay. I know that some people think that the AFA will add credence to these but if you do your research on these items you should be able to see past that.

Knowledge is power, people. Arm yourselves up and stay safe out there.

sorry to see that you made a big loss on these mate ! , toytoni should make up the difference out of his pocket

i cant belive the price these TT achieved either , 300 quid for a toytoni boba fett , that buyer must be mad to pay such a price for a modern day put together !! Apart from Toytoni who knocked these up in his shop part of the fault lies with the graders " so called experts " has the afa even made a statement on the toytonis ?
