Hi all,

Last night, under the influence of alcohol, i made a hefty purchase of star wars figures, i paid £800 for this lot

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260416016631&_trksid=p2759.l1259

now i worked it out last night that if kept the takara vader and sold the rest i could recoup most of the money and the takara would be a nice buy.....

now im not so sure, however i still wanted the vader that much that i think its not a bad price for that lot.

your opinions would be appreciated as i think of a reason to give the missus for spending that much.... lol

aahhh so what she can kiss my ass :)

Andy mate, I have done the same...

Best ofer price when your pissed. Not good.

Loving the Vaders, but think it may be a bit of a high price as the other figures have a bit of damage buy the sounds of it. The Luke Bespin sounds in not to good condition as with the other ESB.

Thats what i thought, oh well, i might rip em all off the card and U grade them all....might make a few hundered...just kidding :)

ill just have to bite the bullet and pay for the mistake, ill still recoup quite a bit hopefully.

Cheers Stu

I'm not sre though Andy, the other lads are always good on prices.

I'm not sure on how much the Vaders would fetch??

I worked it out last night as the vaders 200-300, and if the others got £40 average that would be 240 so 840 in total, i know the luke bespin would fetch a little more and some a less but now after my costs i think it will be a hpoefull break even?

i might get some afa graded to boost the value a bit....

I might be interested in that Harbert Vader, PM a few pictures when he arrives!
Cheers.

love those 2 vaders 8)

so you paid £818 + £8 postage total £826

i am no expert but i think the 2 vaders would get you £500 ish give or take, it all depends on your luck .
£30 - £35 for the death squad commander
£100 on the luke if its that good condition
£ 40 for both anakin and leia
and probably less than £30 for the remaining 3

so probably about £800 :D

now for the bad news .... if you put them on ebay the final value fee would be £80 - £100 . the paypal fee's about the same and lets just hope and prey that customs dont tag your parcel on the way into the country as that will be 15% of the insured total plus handling fee's

sorry plantman but happy bank holiday and hope the wife dont thrash you

your not the only one mate, my girlfriend and myself had to stop drinking on a saturday night and then going on ebay as we used to end up bidding on stuff from the states and not knowing what it was until the next day  .. did get a cracking potf jawa for £40 once but most i kinda regretted

Cheers Jay...i am currently being beaten with a stick right now...

ill try and avoid feebay and sell them outside, hopefully advertise them on ebay and make the sale outside, or see if you guys want any.

so depending on the vaders is break even apart from my fee's...

god damn Rioja........!!!!

however i will be happy with the takara vader, and if i sell most of the rest i shouldnt miss it too much, and living in the garden shed for a week with no sex is perfectly standard in my house any way.

Cheers for the help.

Andy

no weasel. keep finding ways to avoid it   god shes sat next to the monitor and would kill me if she could see this

Due to the last feeback the seller received, I would contact him and ask for perfect packaging.

What's happening?? The seller seems to be relisting??

I got out of the sale.

when i placed my bid i did a currency conversion on xe.com it was $1300 Aus dollars = £638 gbp

however my ebay invoice came through at £826......

so even though i was drunk it looked a good deal at £638 :)

he hasnt emailed me back though

another fine scam by ebay as their currency conversion must be shite

God knows what happened with the conversion...your calculation was spot on. The pound's almost exactly 2 for 1 with the aussie dollar right now. I do most of my SW/footy deals the opposite way on ebay & i've never had a problem like this.
At least there's no awkward explaining to do to the wife!!

another ebay scam i think....they are having my pants down with that conversion!

im glad i didnt buy them just for the pure fact that they are ripping people off with that currency rate.

Hmmmmm im positive it was Aus dollars, i wonder if he changed it before he accepted my bid?

do people in australia usually list auctions in US dollars?
