advice needed

i was asked nearly a month ago for a price on some items im selling, the potential buyer asked if id mind holding them until they could raise the funds to which i agreed quite happily (knowing what its like to see something you want and not having the cash to pay for it there and then) a couple of days ago i sent them a pm to ask exactly how long they wanted me to hold said items having heard nothing from them since the initial agreement. i know theyve read the pm and yet have still heard nothing back. i like to think of myself as being pretty laid back and patient about such things so am i being out of order if i now release them for sale?
your thoughts are much appriciated

My advice would be, if it's someone who treads these boards regularly, pm them again and put a deadline for a response. I would say something like "these items will be going up for sale unless I hear from you by...................
If they are an unfrequent user.................sell them!

Yeah i'd say sent one more message saying "need to hear back about this mate or i'll have to assume you no longer want the. Have other parties interested but still happy to hold them for you if you really want them and we can sort a deal asap"
That sort of thing.
No reply after 48 hours of that and you'll be well within your rights to assume he no longer wants them.

Maybe one more PM stating you will need to put the figures back up for sale unless you have an idea on how long to hold them for.

PS: You selling up bud or just thining focus?

I'm just about selling up, only to start again though lol! There's a few things im keeping though.

Depends how desperately you want to sell whatever it is you are selling i suppose. I would expect to hear back within 24 hours if someone expressed interest. If there's nothing then it's tough crap i'm afraid. I have had people say they would hold things for me, which is great. But if you said that and they haven't got back to your messages i would say anything over 24 hours from the last one is reasonable to offer the item on.

You could send a last message saying they have 24 hours to respond ...but in a more polite way than that.
