While this is a good practice if you need to shift quickly, it's rather annoying when an agreed deal has been offered and accepted to then be told that it 'might have already been sold on Facebook earlier?'

I know I'm new to these forums and shouldn't air my disappointment but I'm hot at work and needed to let off steam.
Rant over

If something sells somewhere else before you get in touch, that's fair enough. But if the seller has agreed to sell it to you and then says it's sold, that is not on. Is that what you are saying has happened?

It's not uncommon I'm afraid mate, and it's a bitch when it's something you would really like.

When I sell, I tend to advertise in one place first, and if it doesn't shift or get any bites within a few hours I tend to cast my net a bit wider.

When buying, it's all down to how fast you are.

That is exactly what I'm saying Edd and it does smell a bit fishy but I also know that innocent mistakes do happen.
The seller seems to have a good rep previously so I'm gonna stop acting like a spoilt child who didn't get his toy

Spot on mate, I've done it myself in the past and understand it's first come first served but you gotta check you haven't been contacted at the other place before advertising on here.
Won't happen between us though sir
I'm at Hillsborough tonight but will be in touch soon regarding that other stuff.

Regards

Some of the Facebook groups have the policy that if you advertise an item and someone comments to buy it you have to sell to them. If you say it has sold elsewhere it doesn't wash with them and you could end up slung out of the group.

That's absolutely fine but they should check on their FB before advertising on here or even agreeing a deal then cancelling less than 20 minutes later.
It just saves a lot of confusion and time, not to mention disappointment.

Yeah if id agree something with someone wouldnt feel right then selling it someone else.
it has happened to me before and its very annoying, you just want to sit at your computer and have a little tantrum..... i know the feeling lol.
