I can never get my head around sets like these being graded...

Just looking at the picture of it raises all kinds of issues..

Display appeal:

-This is uglyyyyy, a playset when displayed loose should be displayed as a playset..meaning it looks best set up with the figures and the backdrop.
-That's a lot of acrylic..you just doubled the amount of space you need to display the Rebel Command center and gave it a lot more weight too. Shelf reinforcement anyone?

Grading inconsistencies:

-Do UKG consider this complete even if the instruction sheet is missing? I mean if they were grading this as a toy and not including non toy related parts, why include the box that held the figures?
-The three (once bagged) figures are no longer in their baggies, so how does anyone know they originally came with this particular set? It could be a mix and match job with some nice looking loosies that boosted the overall grade and not all original.

Verdict:

Wank.

I appreciate that it's hard to grade something like this and do a good job on it, that's one hell of a custom case and well done to the UKG chaps for doing what the customer asked for but..it's just wrong for so many reasons!

That looks utter ****. I'm almost tempted to buy it to free it.
Why can't play sets be graded like vehicles. All set up on display.

Got to say Joe I agree

Looks like a bloody fossil displayed in a museum

I'm not a lover of acrylic for playset s or ships and vehicles, get the protection thing for Mocs, but even they are not for me, then again I will never purchase for investment, so each to his own I suppose.

I agree that it looks ugly and to me actually detracts from its appeal on display

Strong words Joe but I have to agree. This does nothing for me at all. If a playset is without a box etc surely it is always best seen set up? I can appreciate how acrylic can sometimes add that clean cut displayability to some pieces but this is not one of them as it just doesnt seem to make any sense. :|

I am glad you guys agree. I am still scratching my head over this one..

To tell you the truth when I saw the title I thought it was one of Joe's shitty bands.

If I ever go back to playing drums, "Acrylic Overkill" is SO going to be the name of my band.

I can see what they are going for, but think this is better:

I possess zero musical ability, but I'd like to call my fantasy band 'Curse These Metal Hands'.

That playset is a shocker, Early Bird sets I can understand, (although graded gear not my bag), but by crikey that's terrible. Go on Rich, get it and set it free!

That looks ****ing terrible. I just don't get why people display stuff like that.
