.

I had a guy do the same to me but his story was much better.

Apparently his wife (and three kids) had to catch the bus to the next town in order to post the item so therefore I should be expected to pay for all of their bus fares and the time that it takes then to get there.

His package was also full of a load of repro crap - we agreed a £10.00 refund and then he refused to pay. Amzazingly ebay found in his favour (they never normally do with sellers) so I left him a very nasty neg

It looks like some people actually think its fine to charge for their petrol/transport costs and even their LUNCH on RS!

Amazing and shocking really, I think I always lose 1-2 quid on postage because I charge 10 and it costs 12 mostly (if not more sometimes) tracked from Romania into other Euro countries and I just chalk that up to selling, I would rather lose a couple of quid selling on the forums than give the money to ebay/paypal in fees

you can report him to ebay for overcharging too, especially if you forward them his message saying he charged you for his gas LOL

Personally I only charge actual POSTAGE costs.
If I've charged a buyer £10 for postage and it works out at £9.85 I don't bother to refund them, but normally I just assume the time it takes me to get to the PO etc is just part of the cost, I don't specifically add as an extra.

If it was me, I'd be saying to him postage cost "11.95" I paid you "24.95" I'll be having 13 bucks back.
IF the package was well wrapped etc and he was a decent seller I'd be tempted to be flexible.
If it's Ebay just forward his message/email on to them and claim the 13 bucks back.

Well, you've got him 'on tape' saying he's beefing up the shipping costs partly to cover the ebay and paypal fees. Ebay definitely won't like that. I would just ask for a full refund for the amount above the real costs and if he doesn't agree threaten him with notifying ebay.

Tis a sad state of affairs. Although I'm a n00b to vintage Star Wars collecting, I've been buying Vietnam/Cold War gear for years.

I refuse to even contemplate buying for Ebayers with OTT P&P. Chinese sellers can be some of the worst - more than doubling the total cost of some items.

It's already galling me with SW figures

He's talking crap about ebay and paypal fees. If you look through ebays rules on selling it will tell you that you are not allowed to pass on any fees that you are charged through ebay and then the fees you have to pay when someone pays by paypal.

Ages ago I had auctions cancelled by ebay because I stated in the auction that paypal fees would be included in postage costs.

Any costs like he stated are the responsibility of the seller, not the buyer.
