The general assumption is it will be the version the BFI found and screened earlier in the year - so that would be with zero alterations and hopefully nothing beyond making sure it plays right...

As soon as I heard the rumour I decided not to watch any OT film until this happens in 2027 just to make watching it even more special.
We’ll watch it a few times at the pictures, buy it digitally and definitely buy the physical media set.

It would be nice to have a proper 4k or even HD version of the original (and the other two films of course.) I enjoyed watching 4K77 and the sequels, but they are super grainy and jittery, and they have (I assume deliberately) left a lot of artifacts and imperfections in, which has a charm to it but compared to the official Special Editions they looks terrible.
