I know the Palitoy 45 back Luke went a large amount recently due to how few are out there but is the 41 back just as rare? I only wonder as this reseal went for this and wondered if that was a good price even for a reseal?

Real nice IMO

Not really up on reseal but to me I think it's a cracking way to obtain the more debilitating priced cards for people who want the real deal.

What is the general opinion on reseal? Accepted?

I'm not looking to have afa/UK graded, unless its something special, so thinking reseal is a way for me to obtain the more expensive wants

For me I have no problem with reseals at all as it's a more affordable way to collect carded figures. I did start out with a MOC sealed Kenner collection but decided to switch to Palitoy as it's what I had as a child. There was no way I could justify the cost of putting a set of the first 12 together so I ended up going down the reseal route. I've had a lot of fun doing this and although I think I've seen all the reseals I have as Moc's for sale at some point over the years I've been collecting, it would have just cost me too much money to pick them all up. I was offered a set of the first 11 recently for 10K which I almost went for but I just couldn't pull the trigger in the end and in a strange way I'm enjoying having a good quality reseal collection.

I can definitely see the appeal of putting a MOC set together and if you can afford it then it's really the best way to go but you may find there are some figures that seem to never come up for sale so a good quality reseal maybe a good option.

Here's my collection on here -

I need to update it at some point with the rest of my collection but I hope it illustrates what's out there if you give it a bit of time.

Here's Bluedog's fantastic collection -

And theslider has also been putting together a huge run -

I'm sure there are a lot of different opinions out there on reseals but they still have some value to them and I'm more happy with my reseal collection then I have was with my Kenner sealed collection, it's each to their own.

Where do I begin :!: I'm gobsmacked :!:

These runs look fantastic, and to be working on a card to bring it to this level would be part of the hobby for me.

I love the SW collecting ethos, but as a hobby it's the search, the bargain, then the ownership. The reseal route has all of this with the added aspect of physically working on the card, which definitely ticks a big box for me.

This is definitely for me and I now have some study to do :D

In order to initiate, can you explain the term of a " cut card"

I have a practice project that I will start on, I have a ROTJ card with a split bubble no figure
So my question here is I tidy up the card, find a nice minty figure

Do I replace the bubble ..if so how? I would appreciate a little point in the right direction...the one thing I would say is that I would be doing all of this for me for budget reasons, and the end product would never be put on the market, that's part of it for me as well, thanks for the response on this bud really appreciate it :D

To answer your first question, this is a cut card -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Star-Wars-YODA-Cut-Card-Figure-From-Kenner-/190841444281?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item2c6f0957b9

I'm still not sure why these things exist, some people say they were sold in the Kenner factory like this so that they couldn't be re-sold (bet they didn't see ebay coming!), and maybe they were packed like this in vehicles and playsets but I've never really found out, any thoughts appreciated.

The main good thing about a cut card is that it's still sealed and if you can find the matching cardback with damage only to the area that the cut card can cover then it should be a good fit. I don't really see any problem with using these for this purpose as the damage has already happened to the card and it will probably only get U graded by the AFA so it means another figure is saved from that process. :D

With your second question, I've looked at the picture you posted and feel that by putting a figure in the bubble it should look pretty good as it is. I'm not quite sure why you would want to replace the bubble as it looks pretty good but maybe I'm missing something from the picture? Let me know a bit more about that and then I'll run through my process of resealing quickly if you want me to.

Hi mate thanks for the cut card explanation :D

In regard to the bubble on the ROTJ card it's split at the bottom and top, to the extent at the bottom as its like a flap and the figure will fall through.

:D
