Generally good nick, some paint loss, original weapons

- Dengar - good condition
- Bespin guard - paint loss to hands, one arm looser than other (but still poses as shown)

Cheers :)

Had several interested in these... will offer on the basis of first pm / thread message (first arrived at 2.12). If that sale falls through will contact next and so on...

Apologies if you miss out.

Thanks for pm mate -

To be honest this is why I really dislike the pm sent way of buying selling - if everyone just posted on the actual for sale thread instead of sending a pm it lets everyone see what is still available.
Not having a pop at you in anyway - it's always bugged me.

As explained in my private reply to you, I checked both the PM and the thread and offered the figures to the first party to contact me, who did so at 2.12. I'm very happy for admin /mods to check my messages to confirm this was the case.

Personally I prefer PMs to posting on the sales thread. From a seller's perspective, sometimes interest is expressed on the thread and not followed up on (which is fine!), but it can also create the wrong impression that an item has sold when it hasn't... so it is always worth pm-ing...You may well have lost out on items in this way believing them to be sold.

Glad you got a quick sale and someone got a bargain - this is what the forum is all about
My pm to you was pretty much identical to what I posted here - absolutely no hint of accusation of any jiggery pokery so no need to mention mods checking anything - my point, and it's still my point is that sending PMs for sale items causes confusion, your sale thread just proved it -

I thought I was first to reply
Had the other party posted on the thread I would have known it was gone - again this is not a pop at you or the buyer it's something that is pretty much the norm on here but I've never understood it.

Posting on the original thread has got to be less confusing for everyone including the seller, having to cross reference times between public and private messages plus everyone sees what is going on - if someone posts comments like "that's a lovely piece, or would love that in my collection" I'm still going to reply with "I'll take it" but if someone has already stated clearly that they want to buy it I won't - zero confusion

So to be clear - no issue with you or buyer, genuinely happy everyone is smiling, people sending a pm instead of posting on original thread is stupid in my opinion as it takes slightly longer to do (especially on a mobile device) and means everyone else reading the thread thinks it's probably still available.

I actually only came back on here as I thought you had used capital letters for PRIVATE when talking about my pm to you but I either picked that up wrong or it's changed.

You are correct. I did put PRIVATE because I don't think it is particularly fair of you to post your particular issue with the forum sales rules on my sales thread, and I was mildly irritated! I decided to change it because I am trying to be a nicer and more tolerant human being :D

Your issue seems to be that not everyone on this forum follows a rule that you think should exist, but doesn't. Obviously I could sell these figures on eBay for more, but it's a nice forum and I don't have the time or inclination for Orwellian sales rules nor the sense of entitlement it gives to the prospective buyer when I'm selling my stuff, especially when all I'm doing is flipping a few spares at a loss to other forum members who might need them.

My pm and public posts were all very nice and polite including the annoyance I have with the whole pm thing - stressed the "not having a pop at you or buyer" so the "PRIVATE" attempt at a reprimand pissed me off but I don't do internet rage or keyboard warrior **** so I'll finish with

thanks for that.

Holy **** guys  Don't fall out over a small sale ...or any sale for that matter :)

It's a topic that's been discussed recently and more people seem to be on the side of sending a PM. Personally I like to post both on the thread and PM, just to let others know. It would appear that because things generally seem to go well on here no rule has had to be made, which is a good thing I reckon.

May the Force be with you 8)

This issue has been raised only recently and here is a perfect example of the confusion that can arise between the 'first to post' via 'pm' route.
Not even going to try and play Devils Advocate here. As has been mentioned, it appears that the majority of members have expressed a 'pm' first preference?

Now, having said all that, I'm going to throw in my 2 cents at the risk of getting flamed. Absolutely no judgement here on the seller or buyer in this case!

Having seen the first comment on this thread, I personally would have thought that these were gone, sold, Done deal. It wasn't as if it was a Fly by night first time buyer! I'm guessing that is why the first pm was nearly an hour later? Everyone assumed that they were sold?

In the same vain....along with what others have expressed previously, does a seller have to wait an hour or more for someone who has expressed interest to pm...?

I certainly don't know what the best way is to resolve this, but honestly for two established members to fall out over something this small, all be it a bargain, would be a sad day for the SWFUK community!

Barry Jeff

Appreciate you guys coming in with cool heads - Jeff in fairness to Jayums the pm beat my post but I obviously didn't know that hence my disliking of that practice - I wouldn't have posted if I'd known it was gone.

My reaction was purely down to the fact in every message I had made a point of stressing I didn't think anything dodgy had gone on but the reply mentioned admins and originally had a nice big "PRIVATE" in regards to the pm he sent me and I mentioned in my post (I said thanks for the pm mate)- I'm sorry but when I go out my way to be nice in messages I don't expect some pissy attempt at a reprimand - I raised an issue in a very respectful and as far as I'm concerned appropriate manner in no way a slur on the original post or anyone involved - this is a forum after all and this was a perfect example of how misunderstandings could be avoided.

But I don't do handbags or drama, much easier just to tell someone to get to **** but I take your points - this is a community

Just to clarify, I checked the sales thread to see who contacted me first via EITHER PM or via the sales thread. The eventual buyer was the first person to contact me.

I privately messaged the forum member who missed out to tell them they were second in line BEFORE contacting the buyer. This was about 20 minutes after interest was expressed by either party - nobody was waiting around for hours or anything like that.

After this, I replied to messages privately sent to me by the forum member who missed out. Ten minutes later the same message (which I had already responded to privately) was again posted on the sales thread above, which IMO was a bit needless. Hence sarcastic big font. I would rather do business or resolve issues in private.

Reading through my last message I did sound a bit more condescending than I probably meant to at the time, but I don't think it quite warranted name calling - but no harm done, and I can be a prick sometimes so fair enough

Perfect example of how things can get miscommunicated and misunderstood -

I originally thought you were just getting your knickers in a twist and being a prick - so I told you to wind your neck in.
Had I known you intended to be condescending in your reply I would have told you to **** off instead.

Glad it's all sorted now though xxx

love how you called him a prick and then put kisses on the end .... maybe to soften the blow

It is a very difficult position that seller can find themselves in when someone has PM'd directly and then someone else has added to the thread. For me I always go with the first person to make contact with me - either via PM, email or FB message. I think the seller in general on the forum all go by that rule and you have to trust their integrity ... but is it still annoying to miss out

Neither of you have done anything wrong, Jayums has sold to the first member to contact and db is just airing his views on the sales process which was not a personal attack.

Good to see that you've kissed and made up :)

Great price too 8)
