2017 Collecting Goals, hopes and dreams

Mine have carried over from 2016 which I thought were quite straight forward, therefore mine are;

ROTJ Hammerhead
ESB Han, Luke, and Leia Hoth
ESB Hoth Stormtrooper
ESB ATAT Driver
ESB Yoda

More 2017 and beyond if I cannot find half decent ones at half decent prices.

I'm pretty satisfied with my collection right now, so I just have a few goals for 2017. Most of them are "grails" that I might never actually get, but I'm going to put more effort into them this year.

#1. I really really really want to add a Jessica Meade 1st shot or HC to my small character run (I've got some great trade bait)
#2. I'd really like to find either a POTF or ROTJ Boushh proof card
#3. Get an original vintage SW poster or the Birthday Cake one in nice shape
#4. Lastly, I want to have a good time at Celebration and trade buttons with many of you

2. Complete the bebut Kenner 65 backs, need about 10 I think. :?

3. Would really like a Kenner ESB Stormtrooper as well, but it won't happen.

How's everyone doing with their targets this year? I've done my first target got a Wally back in March.

Don't think I'm going to do the other 2 targets, think I still need 8 65 backs. :?

ESB Stormtroopers are silly money IMO.

Out of my 10 goals

1. I have nearly completed my Star Wars Weekly goal, I only miss 2 comics

2. I have also got a lot of cardbacks and boxes with danish price stickers on them for my danish focus

I've actually had a good long think about this and actually still want one thing from my complete disaster of a 2016 list.
This coming year I want to get a 12 back, any 12 back. This will be a budget purchase but you can get them for around (and under) £200 so that's goal number one.
actually achieved this and got it for under £200, sadly around the same time as the car broke so it was short lived, still, there's always next year
Number two should be achievable as well - I intend to complete the first 12 loose figures, of which I need 10
sacked this one off pretty early on, very disheartened with the sharp increase in loose prices, far better value to be had in MOC and boxed items
Number three on my list is to add more KayBee stickered items to my collection
no more stickered items at time of typing but did get a KayBee carrier bag
Number four would be to have fun, go to more shows, fairs, shops, meet ups, to stay focussed and complete the first 3.
not done brilliantly at this but hopefully will make a couple of events before the year is out
Love to see everyone else's and whilst I don't want to wish the time away I can't wait to see how we have all done in 12 months time

After a great 2016 collecting my goals this year are:

One new foreign moc.
One new miscard.
One new speeder bike.

That's all. Prices are nuts at the moment so I would be happy with those three.

Can't wait for celebration. That's going to be great.

No foreign moc but I picked up a complete popy at celebration. Nice

Got a miscard at echo live earlier on in the year. Nice

Picked up several boxed speeders this year, including the awesome Danish stickered bilogo. Nice

I also have a couple of things in the offing of a similar ilk. Nice

The last thread like this got me one of my most treasured grails thanks to another member, so it does work!

Top five wants:

1: Helix felt tips pack (5 pack or 10 pack)

2: Trebor display box

3: UK series 2 Topps display box

4: Boxed 12" Chewie

5: UK Premiere invite for SW 1977 (blue ticket)

Only managed to land number 4 so far, but a sealed one

The Trebor boxes are proving really elusive.

A simple list for me

1. Han Hoth offerless 48 back (fingers crossed this is currently on its way to Iain's house)

2. A Palitoy die cast X-Wing MOC

3. A longtime grail that is tantalisingly close and I dont want to Jinx it :mrgreen:

Was struggling to remember what this was but worked out it was my small wing DV TIE on a TIE card - Done

Otherwise I dont plan to add too much this year, but some pre-prod die cast would be nice.

Picked up a transparency of the Han Hoth stripy boot hardcopy. As close as I'll ever get to the real thing. Otherwise still no die-cast pre-prod but I have a die cast bin waiting at customs for me so all in all a very good year.

I'm doing OK so far. I have been somewhat distracted by other collecting runs than the below though, so I've been distracted from the list. Overall though, very happy

- Hero three pack; any condition or even a part complete example. Well it has Han in so I may as well dream...

- Yan Solo, meccano ROTJ MOC
A reseal, but it is in the cabinet on display looking wonderful
- Clear down a the last few items that are duplicates to free up space and cash
Getting there...
- Boxed IG88 and Fett to complete the boxed 12" run
Got the Fett, 'just' the IG-88 to go
- To finish a couple of unfinished projects; Stormtrooper armour needs constructing and the Tie Pilot helmet needs painting. I have a commission paint job to do first though...
Both finished and on display. The commission job (2 x Y-Wings) went pretty well too

Starting to struggle with some of the pieces im looking for so heres a mix:

01: Trilogo Leia Hoth - Dam, id love on of these.
02: Trilogo Imperial Gunner - yes, most happy. Clipper as well.
03: ROTJ FX-7 - got 2 now.
04: ROTJ 2 Pack- good idea, forgot about this one
05: 65 back TFP Proof - really need to stop drinking when posting
06: Cliro Soap Display- just missed out on 1 that went for £5000 in a lot
07: Kenner Anakin Mailer- nope.......forgot about that.
08: HCF Displays - sorted some pieces

I'd like to add another Meccano 20bk to my collection, complete my loose run (paploo, romba, blue snaggletooth and vinyl Jawa to go), and add to my Palitoy run - I've a few tough ones to go, so adding one or two of these would be great.

Keep going to shows, keep meeting up with friends and maybe make some new ones too.

Still 2 months to go, but I definitely won't be adding any more meccanos and while I've finished my standard loose run I'm still missing VCJ and BS. On the plus side I've added quite a few palitoys to my run!

1. I'm happy with my loose collection but would like to get a burgundy cape LL Bib Fortuna and dark brown Rebel Soldier if I can.
2. Add some more ships to the collection, maybe a few playsets as well.
3. I bought a large collection of carded POTF2 and Episode 1 figures recently so may start finishing off the run of those.
4. More Zuckuss.
5. Create some space to put all this!

Mainly being gaining the ships this year, including a nice AT-AT, A-Wing and Imperial Shuttle.

I haven't found any of these. Did manage to find some stuff I didn't know I needed though.

I hope to add a mint unused but opened Kenner Death Star to my collection and hope to find one or both of the mini rigs I still need to finish my Kenner and European mini rig run (that would be an MLC-3 ESB kenner second wave and or a PDT-8 ESB rebate offer for those interested).

My dream is grabbing one of the Trilogo Play packs. 8)

I've not bought much on my list. Have got a few Last 17 and the 2-1B. Not managed a Trilogo Fett. Rebo bands are going for daft money now. Have bought a couple of Mocs but a pretty slow year for me.

Not ten individual items but my main focus areas for next year:

1) Pick up a Yak (probably) and Madine (unlikely) to finish my trilogo run
2) Finish my run of basic baggies, need about 30 more
3) Pick up a couple more nice MISB vehicles, especially keen on a Snowspeeder and B-Wing
4) Find some more obscure Star Wars/LucarArts games I don't already have
5) Continue to pick up 70b/70c trilogo MOCs when funds allow

1) Got the Yak but no Madine (definitely not going to happen now I've had a baby :lol: )
2) Baggiegate threw a spanner in the works, haven't bought a single one since
3) I think I have bought a couple of smaller vehicles, no Snowspeeder or B-Wing though
4) As you may have seen in Off Topic I recently picked up Simon the Sorcerer which has been one of my biggest wants
5) This run has gone really well, I picked up several at the first FF this year 8)

Overall very happy so far.

1. To find a true gem out there in the wilderness: Carboot Sale, Charity Shop, Local Sales etc
Not yet, unless you count the 3 Tri Logo Yak Face MOCs in May

2. To finally find a photo of me with a Star Wars item as a kid
Crushed to say not yet.

3. To continue to improve my limited knowledge
I know a bit more

4. To continue to contribute to this forum in some shape or other
In a small way

5. To continue to have fun at the collecting socials, FF and celebration.

6. To add a really cool item to my LXW focus
Woolies 8 pack with 2 x LXW in it

7. To continue to be on the podcast

I am looking to add to my collection of loose figures and I find that when I am on ebay I struggling to understand the diff between "VINTAGE" and the "VINTAGE" that I know as a lad from the seventies. When I am on ebay I am worried to part with any cash or pay over the odds etc.

Would anyone out there be able to give me some good pointers/advise. Again, please accept my apologies if these types of requests have been answered multiple times but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Vintage star wars is from the 70s and 80s.

The vintage line is some new stuff from 2010 to 2013.

Long term goals - Just needing 13 figures for a full Moc run..
Sadly all that i need are now expensive. :?
Amazingly i still require a Lumat Moc (Any card). Him being the lowest price one he's next on my list before the years out and i have spare funds.
I've got a thing for Vtg starwars mirrors, especially those cheap tacky wood framed bootleg ones you got when the shows or circus were in town, i've ot 4 just now i've purchased this year & wouldn't mind finding another one of those before 2017's out.
