2017 Collecting Goals, hopes and dreams

2017 will be a slow collecting year for me, loft conversion and a new baby middle of the year will drain me financially this year but I will start be buying just much slower and more carefully to things I want.

So my wants for the year.

1. To start and finish the 12" figure line loose, tough ask but going to have a real stab at it.
2. Start a loose Lili Ledy run, hope to have a handful by end of year.
3. Any Sigma I need, most importantly the Tape Dispenser. Have to be at the right price though.
4. Add a few MOCs for the collection, want to definitely add an ERG and Tusken Raider.
5. Boxed Cloud City Playset
6. Couple of display boxes
7. Couple of Greedo pieces for the focus
8. Continue picking up POTF2, nice cheap way to collect when things are tight. Be handy around July time.

Outside of physically collecting.

9. Post more on the forum, seem to just read these days rather than getting heavily involved.
10. Make sure we keep smashing out the podcasts with the lads. Look forward to having some of you forum gents on over the next twelve months.

My hopes and dreams regarding collecting, to find a sealed Falcon, complete my loose run and to find reasonable priced mocs to slowly build a collection.

After a great 2016 collecting my goals this year are:

One new foreign moc.
One new miscard.
One new speeder bike.

That's all. Prices are nuts at the moment so I would be happy with those three.

Can't wait for celebration. That's going to be great.

My wish list for 2017 is:

1. Complete Palitoy 12 back moc run - need Ben, Chewy, Leia, Luke and Jawa
2. Vinyl caped Jawa
3. Master Replica Y-Wing to complete my MR vehicle collection
4. EFX tie fighter to complete my EFX vehicle collection
5. Maybe some of the collectors edition Lego sets

I don't currently own any vintage Star Wars but I do know who owns my childhood vintage collection and met up with him a few months ago. I talked about having the figures and vehicles back, he said I could. So, my number one collecting goal for this year is to arrange to get these, without coming across as needy or being pushy about it.

The second goal is to own an MOC of one of the vintage figures I bought and opened as a kid in the eighties. A Ree Yees or Klaatu would be fine.

Thirdly and I know it's not vintage, but want to finish the 3 3/4" Force Awakens figure set. Not too many to go, just need to find a Home Bargains.

Had to adapt my collecting this year, 1. Because of getting divorced and paying for that and 2. Because of the crazy prices going round at the moment. Moving into my new house in the next couple of weeks so going to TRY and take easy again this year.....

I've got 7 Jedi MOC's I need to complete my run of Jedi characters on Jedi cards, none of them hard to get so will probably reserve getting those at Farthest Froms or if cheap ones pop us.

Chewie, Obi-Wan and Luke Farmboy MOC on Jedi cards with the alternative photo art.

I want to finish my FSK Empire sticker book.

I hope to track down some foreign card backs.

A meccano square card obi wan.

A miscard and a twin pack.

Make inroads into getting a full run of bantha tracks and reseaching more about the UK fan club and nailing down what was available her opposed to the states.

Some more micro collection sets.

Haven't decided whether to go after the 14 of the last 15 I need MOC. I've got them loose and have no real drive to pick them. Wondering I the OCD will kick in though once I have all the Jedi card I'm after :?

Most importantly though I want to get my collection room set up. I can't wait to get to grips with this. Just thinking about it gives me a happy feeling inside.

I hope to add a mint unused but opened Kenner Death Star to my collection and hope to find one or both of the mini rigs I still need to finish my Kenner and European mini rig run (that would be an MLC-3 ESB kenner second wave and or a PDT-8 ESB rebate offer for those interested).

My dream is grabbing one of the Trilogo Play packs. 8)

In terms of acquisitions I would really like to get my mitts on a 30B AT-AT Driver...

But the thing I'd like most is to be able to find some way of displaying my stuff; most of it is still in the loft and I just don't get to see it as much as I'd like. That said, I've got a first 12 display on its way to me now and I am absolutely bursting to get my childhood figures on that - just can not wait!

Had a major change in my living situation over the past year and had to sell the small amount of MOC's I owned which means I'm starting all over again this year with a very limited amount of space. With that in mind this is my hopes for this year...

1. Loose first 12 run (10 to go)
2. As many loose Imperial troopers/pilots etc as possible
3. Tie Fighter Pilot MOC

I think that will have to be it with the tiny amount of space I have at the moment.

A simple list for me

1. Han Hoth offerless 48 back (fingers crossed this is currently on its way to Iain's house)
2. A Palitoy die cast X-Wing MOC
3. A longtime grail that is tantalisingly close and I dont want to Jinx it :mrgreen:

Otherwise I dont plan to add too much this year, but some pre-prod die cast would be nice.

3) A loose VCJ for £750 or less.

If I can do that and achieve some good selling prices and even better buying prices I will be one happy, happy bunny

I'm going to try and up my game this year and finish some runs so:

1. Trilogo imperial gunner (nudge nudge Simon if you're selling up!)

2. Try and complete the micro collection playsets. If I can't score the death star ones ill be happy with hoth and bespin.

3. Finish building my collection room. This is a bit of a cheat as I should be done in a week or so.

4. Thin out the collection once I've got it all out of storage with a stall at FF.

My goals, hopes and dreams for 2017 is

1. To find a true gem out there in the wilderness: Carboot Sale, Charity Shop, Local Sales etc

2. To finally find a photo of me with a Star Wars item as a kid

3. To continue to improve my limited knowledge

4. To continue to contribute to this forum in some shape or other

5. To continue to have fun at the collecting socials, FF and celebration.

6. To add a really cool item to my LXW focus

7. To continue to be on the podcast

8. To bring on and encourage new collectors

9. To continue to get a kick out of showing any house guests my collection (whats left of it)

10. To discourage U grading

Overall just enjoy what I have. With prices being so high maybe I'll get a couple of Jabba's goons Or Ewok Mocs. I recon there's still some loose goodies out there at Bootsales, etc! Hope so anyway! Hopefully get a couple of Farthest Froms under my belt too.
