2009 review and goals for 2010

From his limelight on RS Gus's set took 15 years and it's awesome. Glad there are 2 sets out there now, was planning on robbing Sansweet but now I have options

I think James finished his too. Vic and Lisa have a complete carded Ewoks set and I think they are only missing one from their loose UDE set. There's a few I know half way there too.

I think my goal for next year is to unpack the star wars boxes, display some of it and maybe start collecting again.

2009 will go down as the year that i finally completed my set of the first 20 palitoy MOC's. This occured yearly in the year and took my whole year finances, so the rest of the year has been a non buying star wars year.
As for 2010 who knows but i will still be on the forum but yet to decide on what way to go as far as collecting Star Wars items.

2009 has been one of my worst years collecting wise :(

Though for selling it's been fantastic :D

Not bought a single piece for my Palitoy MOC figure collection.

But did manage to complete the diecast and pick up many miscards.

So I guess for 2010 my collecting goals will be....

1) Find some Palitoy MOC that I need

2) Get more miscards

3) Would also like to get nice Palitoy boxed versions of the two weapons

The first 6 months of 2009 has been good for my collecting. On the modern side my Sideshow 12" have grown, 4 RAH figures, 3 clones and a shadow Stormtrooper have come my way, a Marmit Boba Fett, many loose Clone figures for my army, a Aayla Secura Jedi starfighter, Episode 1 collection is now one figure short of complete, I completed my regular TAC collection and have started to collect variants and gold cards. One area that has become a lot more prominent in my modern collection is my loose figure's, not really collecting to any pattern but what ever is in best condition and cheapest to buy, now stands at 322. The odd Red POTF2, SOTE, a George Lucas Stormtrooper MOC with mailer box.

Vintage stuff has been more on my list for last year with me dipping into variant collecting, multiples of Dengar, Luke Bespin, Han Hoth, Hoth Rebel Trooper, Han Bespin and Nien Numb have been amassed. Other vintage items include a Falcon, boxed Darth Vaders Star Destroyer playset and 3 vintage carded figures being Lando Skiff, Squid Head and Luke Bespin.

2010 will be a little quiet due to a change in living circumstances with not much money available. Due to the price rise in modern figures such as the Clone Wars and Legacy, I'm not going to continue with modern figures so I'm going to concentrate more on vintage. My aim is to get as close as I can to completing a full set of MOC, more AFA vintage and vehicles / playset's will be in order.

Can't imagine there have been many better customers than me Gary. :D

Gary, hope you find something that you need for your Pali MOC collection mate.

With more and more folk collecting the Pali logo the competition will be fierce........

Cheers mate. I hope so too. This has been the first year I haven't got anything since I started collecting :?

I did have one other person who bought 7 of the 45a's

I think competition is fiercest for the 12/20 backs. Luckily i'm well out of that

First ....dom rise of the fallen was not a pile of shite

2009 stated on a loose collection not taking of cards but i do have a heat sealed baggie r4 thata screaming to be opened

2010 now with no ex wife moaning about me buying toys and a new bird who is cool as **** and shows a interest in it as she knows it interests me .the sky the limit for next year even gonna display it .gonna complete loose and start on film release run of cards.also gonna pick a few ships up if i get chance

Jimmy are you secretly tutoring some of these guys?

Goals
1. More Dengar MOCs especially a Kenner 41b or 41d would be nice
2. Any sort of pre production piece for the focus
3. Buy more Lego
4. Get MIB Hasbro Inspector Gadget
5. Start on Vintage Madballs set
6. Sell more vintage MOC to fund the above :)

The "Grail" item for the year for me to find would be a......45a Palitoy Dengar :D

If you decide to sell that rather than open it I might be interested - Let me know!

I finally completed my loose collection with an awing pilot on the way to me, i'll get pics up then!

next year i plan to work slowly but surely on my MOC debut collection and also a loose imperial shuttle when i reach 1000miles on my cycle computer

I collected next to nothing this year. Bought my sonic landspeeder at start of year. Just bought something off ebay the other week waiting for it to get delivered.

2010 going to put together a loose set of figures. Also try to complete my palitoy12/20 backs and my 12" series

oh yeah i want to put a loose 12 inch collectionotgether as well

This is my first year collecting, started about this time last year. I only wanted a loose minty Darth to be honest but it soon got out of control. Once I opened my first parcel I decided to make a complete loose set my goal and that went out the window when I went Boushh crazy!

I have slowed it down in recent months and even considered selling up. I think I have found a safe pace now and hope to keep a steady interest in this one of my many hobbies.

Next year I hope to continue picking up the odd bit of Boushh here and there and I have just found that spark of excitement I had this time last year! I don't own one yet but some Tri's are starting to grow on me so I think I will look to start picking on them along with Palitoys. :D

Good luck with picking up the odd bit off bush next year mate :)

Within days of joining the forum, and only originally here looking for a few videos, ive already bought a POTF coin off of ebay (bronze dulok shaman. i bid on a few but its the only one i won). I knew when i joined that if i ever got into collecting i would only be intested in ewok items, and mainly items to do with the cartoon and thats what i intend to stick to. So for 2010 my goal is to get a few more ewok coins and maybe a few loose figures, again limited to the cartoon, unless i find something epic like the ewok village at a car boot sale or something lol, and a few cells from the ewoks catoon.

2009 has been a really good year for me. I had already completed my loose standard figures collection in 2008, so have been focusing on improving the standard of those figures and focusing on some of the rarer variants this year.

I've managed to get some really good examples of the rarer variants; 6 different tri-logo fetts, Han original 1977 white moulded limbs, vinyl caped Jawa, and a hand full of Ledy figures, most of the Ledy's have been by chance, which has been really exciting to find them.

I also have a massed a large collection of different COOs for each of the figures, but my interest in this is dwindling a little and am focusing on some of the major variants. I use the COO guide on RS a lot of the time but it doesn't really help identify where the figures come from apart from maybe the Ledy's and PBP.

Goals for 2010, I'm not really sure! I suppose I should complete my Droids and Ewok collection but those figures don't really do it for me. DT figures is an aim but I always worry about fakes, so will probably opt for a AFA unless I can get one from a respected seller, but it will still be expensive, so it might go on the backburner for a while. Think I’m going to expand my ledy collection.

As you can probably guess I am more of a loose figure collector. I have a few MOC figures, but again this doesn't really do it for me, I've had more than a few disappointments when I have bought MOC figures in the last 3 years (mostly in the 1st year), either the bubble being damaged /smashed / coming off card which has not been described in eBay, or damage occurring in transit. Collecting MOC figures is risky because every time one changes hands in risks being damaged in the post. Besides those MOC figures always take up a lot of room, which I haven't got a lot of. For the moment I'm sticking (the majority of the time) with loose figures. I'm sure at one point I'll focus more on MOCs but not quite yet.

Another aim is to contribute more to these forums, I’ve been more of a lurker since I joined here and RS last year, afraid of saying the wrong thing, but I’ve decided to **** that idea its too boring. (I probably should have posted this in the introduce yourself section. Oops.)

Normally I only buy/sell on eBay but have done a few trades here this year, so thank you to those that have helped me with my collection. I look forward to trading with you in the new year.

All the best for the new year!
