Can someone tell me why this is a desired piece..

the listing says salesman sample, but a chewbacca he also had sold for 1/10th of the price and in better nick??

Remember seeing this listed.

Doesn't appear to be any different than ordinary kenner 12 back stormtroopers.No distinguishing features or marks to make it stand out from others.

All you have is a nice little story.Which for me doesn't add any value.

I also take ebay sales with a pinch of salt as they're not always what they appear to be.What with shill bidding,not completed transaction,and other dubious practices.

Ebay sales can sometimes be misleading.

They were given these to show examples of the toys when traveling round to sell them to businesses.
As far as i am aware the only difference is that the footer is white instead of red.

I've just been reading an very informative thread on 12 back footers on rebelscum and from some collectors on there having a white footer doesn't necessarily mean it is a salesman sample.

As far as i am aware the only difference is that the footer is white instead of red.

I didn't realise that the white footer meant it was a salesman sample as I see a Leia and a Vader in the past (maybe even a Chewbacca). Interesting to learn and because of this I can understand the extra value that it made. Must be a grail for a focus collector.
