Advice time please

If an ungraded 12 back has the pop cut out and missing what does this do to the grading? The rest of the card and bubble looks pretty mint but am interested in what the missing POP does to it's grading and potential value

Opinions appreciated

Thanks

Garry

I recently saw some On ebay and i think were graded an AFA60.

For me a missing pop is a big flaw, Lets say an obi wan 12back goes at least 220-250£ ungraded, then one like this would be kinda 50% of that imo.

Edit:

Just to add i bought one wich would easily grade an 80 (possible subs 80-85-85) for 215£, not so long ago i bought another one On RS for an 210£ wich also would grade an 80 (80-85-85) but wich looked better imo. So i kept that one and sold the first one for the Same price as i initially bought it.

And a second edit: just to give you an idea of the 2 Moc's i am talking about (both 12back C's).

This was my first one.

This is the replacement, i like the position of the price sticker much better.

Hi Garry,

I may be wrong but i think i can recall Steve from UKG telling me that he wouldn't grade a MOC which had a pop removed.
I have a beautiful ESB MOC with just the rear portion of the pop removed (can't tell from the front) but i'm sure that they wouldn't grade it for that reason alone. I may be wrong, but after that i generally stay away from POPless MOCs.

If its a bargain though, go for it and just get a nice acrylic case from Christian.

Is that the 21-B?

For me the jury is out on 'popless' cards - if it hasn't cut all the way through and the front of the card looks great then it will be a nice display item - however from a resale point of view it does affect the value as some people won't go anywhere near them

Thanks for the advice all - I am going to steer clear as it's not cheap and I agree it needs to be a bargain to have the POP missing - not my cup of tea really so my hunt for Ben continues, I am 7 into my 12 back and still need Chewie, Han, Luke, Ben and Vader

Running out of cash for these bad boys - there seems to be no deals about on these at the moment just inflated Monopoly money on evilbay!
