That’s me been on this forum for 1 year now so was thinking about just how much I have enjoyed being part of this community and just how much it has increased not just my knowledge but my enjoyment as well.

I have made some great friends on here and learnt so much about my hobby – if you had asked me a year ago I would have declared myself a bit of a SW expert. Ha! In twelve months I have learnt more than I did in the previous 30 years! If you had asked me what a coo was I would have said a big farm beastie that gives you milk! Had no idea about the huge range of variants or the many different cardbacks, bubbles, seals etc

As I was previously limited to ebay for buying I had the pleasant surprise of dealing with people more interested in the figures they were selling rather than the profit they were making! People that would rather do something nice in the community than make an extra pound.

In the last 12 months I have discovered wonderful new words like – baggies, case fresh, C10, unbroken limbs and my favourite MOC
A year ago I wouldn’t have thought I would be buying MOC’s (let alone several of the same kind just because the cardback is different!) or boxed vintage vehicles but the pleasure and encouragement this forum has provided has taken my love of SW to a completely different place. Few years back I had a couple of MR sabers practically hidden away and all my wonderful childhood toys stashed in boxes in the attic – now I have taken over the spare room and drag people in beaming with pride to see my every growing collection.

I know there is a bit of a cloud looming over collecting just now with the TT situation but Star Wars (especially collecting) is all about the happy memories it triggers so a huge thanks to everyone on this forum for sharing their experiences. A wise man once said you only grow old when you stop playing – lets never grow old

Happy forum birthday mate :-), got mine coming up next month too!

Echo your sentiments dragging people to see your collection and learning lots!

May your next year be a vintage bountiful one.

Adam

Congrats buddy, happy forum b day :D

There is nothing like SW collecting, and this is the place to do it, good luck for year 2

Cheers - to give this post a bit of balance I really should mention that I have less money now than I did 12 months ago

Lol I hear you on that one!

I've spent 5 minutes on this forum and have learnt a lot already. I thought I had a bit of a smidgen of a gnats scrote sized idea of SW collecting, clearly I dont..

this could be a fun 2014

Would totally agree, only been on here a few months but have learnt so so much from everyone and everyone on here makes you feel so welcome.
