just been on brains toys and there is a potf Anakin afa 85y 80/85/85 (so afa 80 really?) for $24,999 jesus been on the lookout for ages but where do they come to the conclusion on prices????

has more rare potf also

gammy afa 70y $3000
at at driver afa 80y $4000
nikto afa afa 85y $8000
stormtrooper afa 85 clear $1200

would put up link but don't know how to

if the bubble cracks or gets mishandled whilst in delivery that's one hell of a loss not to mention customs fees

BT's prices have ALWAYS been ridiculous.

I've no idea where they get most of them from, or who pays them. POTF Anakin's don't come round very often, especially not at that grade, but the price does seem high to me. Though it's been a while since I checked out the POTF prices.

ps, 80/85/85 is an 85 if it says it on the label. The AFA grading system is a bit weird, but one 80 doesn't necessarily drag the whole thing down to an 80.

I stopped collecting the non last 17 POTF's because so many of the rare one's have such brittle bubbles. It's just too much of a risk shipping them anywhere. I don't have Anakin or Yak Face (yet :p ) but if they came up I would almost certainly pass unless they could be collected.

BT always has issues with stock as well. Sometimes the website is out of stock when they show as available, sometimes ebay the other way around. The only consistent things are the ridiculous prices but someone always seem to pay in the end

A bit of useless info for you. Back in 2008 at the Premier Collectible Auction an AFA 85 with a clear bubble sold for $10k +fees, it had straight 85 Subs etc. it sold a year later for the same price.

Cheers grant,I already got Anakin on badly repaired card (got full moc potf set) but always looking to upgrade.
:D

To be honest the mega bucks rare pieces like this are selling for don't surprise or worry me, these are genuinely rare and hard to find items in excepetional condition. It's the idiots paying £500 for loose VCJs or £2000 for 12 backs that is bothering me, that is what's going to price people out of collecting. The everyday items should have everyday prices, and yes the VCJ is common despite what the 1993 Sansweet book says :)

Bang on the money Ed. VC Jawas virtually grow on trees these days there's that many of them. 8)

I've seen countless VC Jawa's over the years, but very few and far between Anakins POTF MOC! Let alone AFA 85... When you have something this rare and a ton of last 17 MOC collectors, you really can name your price because who knows when you will see one again? VC Jawa's on the other hand, you will see one listed again in a week or two - same with the 12 backs...
