I wouldn't buy anything - but I would have a good old look and breath in the atmosphere of certain childhood toy shops. The local Wool shop that sold figs, Gamelys in Worthing, Debenhams and maybe Zodiac toys in Bristol. Defo Woolworths.

I bid on non SW stuff and lost on it all by 20 quid. That always makes me a bit suspicious. There was a couple of very high value items hidden in some lots that I hoped no one would spot - but they obviously did!

I once picked up and entire bootful of MOCs from Vectis, when I was down Oxford way for work. 2 hrs plus for me and it was quite the drive! Think I'll rely on the post from now on.

My best Star Wars bargain was a huge box of figures and spaceships at a boot sale around 1993. The guy had just sold another big box just beforehand. I bid on some non Star Wars stuff at the middle of the expected Vectis suggested price (so obv thought I'd get none of it) and surprisingly picked nearly all of it up. I wasn't expecting to spend so much, but I think even with Vectis tax, the prices were pretty good.

For me, I've moved on in the collecting world. I have hit my goal - MOC entire Kenner range - But not wanting to take it further (Card types, variants, Vehicles, loose). I enjoy reading about all those things - But I've moved on to Action Force and GI Joe which is 1000x times harder to find and...

I got smashed bidding on Action Force stuff. I spotted a couple of hidden gems but I guess so did someone else and it went so high that I don't know how they could justify it for loose unboxed stuff. I over paid on one AF thing for pure convenience. SW seemed to go sky high.

I really enjoyed when everyone was on the one podcast - when they spilt, I have to say I've stopped listening to both. I need to start listening again!

I have discovered later in life that there was a lot of "grey imports" of toys throughout the eighties. Normally not into mainstream shops or channels though. I had friends who scored US exclusive GI Joe and I personally picked up late series Battle Beasts - Both supposedly not available here.

I think some stuff got ridiculously over produced in the 83-85 era as SW died. SW toys are not and never will be rare.

I bid on a Lando Trilogo general and lost - but I reserved my big bids for Starcom. I bid over 500 each for fair conditioned rare(ish) vehicles with slightly bashed boxes. And lost by miles on each one. My total bids were over 3k and won one (low priced!) non sw thing.
