How do you find the rails on the UKG cases, do they scratch the card?

A good source for cases in UK is Christian from GWAcrylic. Have a few of his cases and in my opinion they are better than the AFA cases. The rails which hold the MOC in place have a curved lip on them, and are designed to not scratch the card when inserting or removing from the case. They are...

I believe it has something to do with the mold details, The chest, and sculpt of the figure. As mentioned, this is an early variant, i would "assume" before the blanked, erased, or scared variants leg markings were added to the figures and produced. It is a production figure, so not a one off...
