After completing my 12 back reseal run I decided to take the next logical step and put together the 20 backs. With this run I decided to not be quite as picky as I was with the 12 back run but for the most part I did manage to get fairly nice examples. I only finished yesterday putting the Luke X-Wing together after having it in parts for years so it feels quite satisfying to have them all together now.

I've posted up both versions of Walrus Man which I noticed had different shaped bubbles recently. It's amazing after all of the years how new discoveries can be made and it does keep the hobby fresh and collecting fun. I also notice that my two 12 back Leias I have also have different shaped bubbles (like the pin head and large head han), so there really are new things to be found all the time!

It really depends on the damage to the card. The Luke X-Wing took me about an hour last night to put together as the bubble was completely removed so I needed to patch up the card back where the bubble had been removed before re-attaching it. That also includes finding the right footer to fit from my box of bits and bobs and selecting the right figure (I went for an ex-Palitoy stock one that I bought off of an Australian seller years ago who I think recently had more for sale on eBay). What did take a bit of time though was trying to identify the right blaster after looking online at moc examples and reading through TIG, it's quite a minefield out there for blasters!

The Chewbacca from the 12 back thread only took half an hour as it was quite straightforward and just getting his crossbow to stay on his arm straight was the only real problem. Some of the others though like the cut bubble ones that are attached to card backs do take a good few hours to get right as you have to be really careful when doing it. It's all a bit of fun though.

This in a nutshell is an example of a love for the hobby, patience, diligence and research to ensure you put together something that is genuine and breathes life back into damaged cards/ bubbles etc. It's the complete antithesis to u grade practice and the greed aspect of the hobby.
Doff my cap to you Ian, well done for bringing these pieces back to life and retaining vintage for the future.

Your collection looks anazing, and something to be very proud of, congratulations mate :)

Its a bit like a craft and restorer in one. Great work and thanks again - looks like your getting the hang of it. :lol:
