Hi guys,

The auction is over so I am sure I am able to post the e-Bay link here now?!

I thought this may be a DT Luke, I am probably wrong but it seems by the price it went for I may have been right?

Can anyone shed any light?

Thanks.

Not sure with the one picture. The sabers color looks more like one of the painted repro's...but by no means do I own one of these...so maybe it is just a poor picture.

I didn't think the sabre looked right. Wrong colour for me (it looks banana yellow) but like Todd i'm no expert. If unsure i always assume fake and 99.9% of the time that's the case.

yeah colour is wrong (unless its a total trick shot) and the tip is normally wavier, looks far too straight for me.

The end of the main part looks rounded like its been painted.

I could be wrong but i say 100% fake... :)

I guess and I bow to your better judgement, just wondered why it went for £35! I did e-mail the seller for more pics but she was away and couldn't send me any... Worst luck!

Oh well, I live in hope again.

It went for 35 because half a dozen other people thought like you. "worth a £20, £30, £35 risk..." Also as one person sees another bid they think "it must be real, others have spotted it!..." and so on. You see this ALL the time. Lemmings off a cliff.
No offence...

unfortunately there are some superb repro revalveit sabres around, and a lot of sellers play dumb and try and get extra by tricking people with fakes but not declaring it as a DT saber so they aint lying.

If it did look like a DT the online traders would have spotted it.

None taken mate but the bidding didn't go that way... It was on £6.50 with 5 seconds to go then someone bid £12 and then the last guy and I bid... It was just end of auction bidding mate.

No offence :D

I see.
And like Andy says, often the seller words things or does not word things in such a way that it leaves it open to interpretation. And obviously enough people will think "what if.." or "worth a risk". These sellers know full-well what they are doing and half the time they get away with it without even the item being returned.
I know i did it a few times in the early days and luckily never won any fakes i bid on. Mainly cos i'm too cheap so some other poor sod always ended up with it.

I did hesitate once with a VC jawa where the pictures didnt quite look right, but it turned out to be legit...i was gutted but i always prefer caution, the jawa turned out to have a rip and a hole too.

The seller clearly didnt know wht he was selling.

Small world i had this on my watch list as well! I dont think its a DT but i do think it might be one of the early lettered Saber varietys that came straight after the DT i have exactly the same figure with exactly the same colour saber but mines sadly lacking the tip and i believe it to be 100% original, I would love to have seen this one in hand but didnt think it was worth the gamble at that sort of money.
