See-Threepio (C-3PO):

I never had it as a kid in the 80s, I only saw it one time for sale in a danish toy store when I was a kid. But when I got older and began to collect in 2001 I got my first See-Threepio (C-3PO) figure and I must say I think kenner did a great job with this figure (y)

Sorry - saw C-3PO and went rogue. I still don't have a 1977 MOC unfortunately.

I love all the droids & golden rod is no exception, they made a good job of the sculpt with this figure, lovely to see that square meccano Matthieu, I do love those little cards & some nice cardbacks you've got Lars.

Here's my SW-a baggie which is quite a rarity having only ever been issued with the special offer Kenner Landspeeder.

Thanks for sharing such a rare item! :)

What can I say about the original fixed limbs C-3PO? It's one of the first 12 figures released for Star Wars... and it rocks! :-) I loved this figure as a kid and I love it still!

There are a surprising number of variants to be found on the fixed limbs C-3PO and I by no means have them all, but I do have a few to share, including a dull gold Lili Ledy/PBP figure complete with flat head screw in the centre of its back (PBP imported their C-3PO figures from Lili Ledy according to the excellent Variant Villain website, so they are effectively one and the same thing), a Japanese Takara C-3PO with its completely different body and head sculpts and a cross head screw in the centre of its back, plus a Palitoy 12 back.

I should also correct an error from the old Toy of the Week 1 C-3PO thread where I mistakenly believed the red gold Kader I, 1a figure below was a PBP one. That's how it was sold to me, however thanks to the Variant Villain website, I now know it to be Kader.

From left to right:

Unitoy VII, 1a - Wide leg stance, narrow head, dot in sharp sculpt circle on back of head, 2-Line Hong Kong.
Unitoy IV, 1a - Very wide leg stance, wide head, dot in soft sculpt circle on back of head, 2-Line Hong Kong.
Unitoy IV, 1b - Very wide leg stance, narrow head, dot in sharp sculpt circle on back of head, 2-Line Hong Kong.

Kader I, 1a - Red gold. Narrow leg stance, narrow head, dot in soft sculpt circle on back of head, 3-Line Hong Kong.
Kader V, 1a - Narrow leg stance, narrow head, dot in soft sculpt circle on back of head, 2-Line Hong Kong.

Kader/Lili Ledy Regreso III, 1b - Dull gold. Wide leg stance, narrow head, dot in sharp circle on back of head, flat head screw in centre of back.
Takara VI, 1a - Completely different Sculpt. Wide leg stance, very different head. Cross head screw in centre of back.

That's a lot of gold gooness snakebite, nice to see some good clear images of the takara version, your focus figure by chance?, as most are with baggies I am with figure variations, some great info on them, but I would have no clue which I am looking at without some serious help.

That's very kind of you, thank you.

I don't really have a focus as such, although when it comes to loose figure collecting, I do try to get as many visually different variants as possible, but each figure is equally important to me in that regard. I do have my personal favorites of course, but in terms of buying them, I want a Madine variant just as much as a Luke Stormtrooper one :).

Regarding the Takara variants specifically, I have all 3 as good loose examples, so if you're interested in them keep an eye out for the Vader and Stormtrooper threads when they appear in Lars's Toy of the Week 2 threads where they will (hopefully, if I have time!) be blessed with new photography and updated variant info (courtesy of the wonderful Variant Villain website; my go-to source for variant information). Or alternatively, if you can't wait that long, check out the old TOTW threads here:

Enjoy!

Jeremy

PS - Incidentally, it's snaketibe not snakebite, but you're not the first and won't be the last to read it wrong! :)

I liked the C-3PO figure as a nipper but I've grown to appreciate more as I've got older. What a figure! Accurate sculpt and finished off nicely in shiny gold.
