Hi Folks. Just looking for a wee bit of advice again.

Have noticed out of my 3 R2's 2 of them have No Coo's , one dark blue leg. the other lighter blue. Date stamp right hand side.

My Hong Kong R2 has dark legs.

Have taken photos of all 3 as best as I can.

Not sure if a Euro figure?

Any help appreciated again!

Many thanks.

Gordon

I've often seen this coo guide and site referenced but wondered how it works? Do you know if the coo's listed are in order of release or just put down in the order they were pictured?

Also there's no way to know if a certain coo goes with a certain type of face or body of a character (or even weapon), is there something I'm missing from this guide or is there somewhere else that would have this information?

Any help appreciated.

Hi ian, as far as I know they are in family order and it is not complete, there is more out there. Some coo goes with a certain type of face or body but there is also a huge lot of body and face variants for the same coo or no coo and weapons, well some was sold with different weapon variants and others were sold with one weapon variant.

I don't think there is a complete guide for coo, body, face and weapon variants that match. Could be cool if there was, I try to do what I can to do my own research when I pick up childhood lots and with sharing info from other collectors who have figures from their childhood or have found a childhood lot.

Jeff and I tried to something about it on the forum years ago, but It is hard to find time for it, I have more info laying around of pictures than I have time to share :( here is a link to what we tried to do and all members was welcome to share info in them https://starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=23894

The guide is not written in order of release date. Each of the families refer to a different factory that produced the figures. Often multiple factories produced figures at the same time.

I am not that knowledgeable about the R2 figure but for example regarding the Dengar figure family I refers to the Smile factory; Family II to Unitoy and family III to Kader. However, currently the person who put the guide together has not divulged which Factory is associated with each family and the info above is just gathered from my own experience with the figure.

I believe there are plans to develop the site further in the future and this may include linking weapon mould to specific figures also.

On Facebook a knowledgeable chap called Mark Andrews is putting together a series of figure focuses for the different characters that compares figure traits and helps you identify each specific Coo and their relevant accessories. However, this involves a lot of research and photography and takes time so currently only a few figures have been done. These include Leia Boushh, C-3PO Removable Limbs, TIE Fighter Pilot and Jawa. They're awesome and worth logging on to Jabba's Court to check out.
